I've never been one to be distracted at school, usually I was pen to paper and studying hard. Today however, I walked out of my SOSE class with an empty notebook and my pencil case unopened still in my bag.

Ever since Calum had walked off this morning, I hadn't seen him all day. It made me a little concerned and annoyed that he'd left me hanging.

At Break 1, I'd sat with Sadie Freeman, the chatty girl from my Home Ec class. She seemed pretty cool and she rambles on about Ayden and his antics.

I had no idea how she knew so much about him when he was a whole year above us.

When I questioned her about this, she just got an amused but oddly serious look on her face.

"I may or may not stalk his Facebook page..."

We both laughed over that and she seemed like a good person to be around.

It was now Break 2 and after waiting at the bench for a good ten minutes, I realised Calum wasn't coming. I groaned, getting to my feet.

Obviously I wasn't worth the trouble of sticking around for.

"Crystal!"

I heard a friendly cry from ahead of me and I lifted my head hopefully, praying to see Calum's warm and friendly face, his eyes dark in an apology.

But in front of me was Sadie and she was grinning from ear to ear.

"Hey Sadie," I smiled weakly. She didn't have to know that I wished Calum was here instead.

Sure, Sadie was great... but Calum had answers.

"Someone's excited," I could hear the sarcasm in her voice. I sighed and she frowned. "What's up, girl? You look like some who just found out their boyfriend was cheating on them with another chick."

I looked up, a little shocked by her bluntness towards things.

"Are you legit?" Sadie gasped. "Who's the guy Crystal? I'll rip him a new one..." Sadie looked around, searching for the nonexistent guy.

I shook my head and actually found myself laughing.

"Nah, just my friend is ignoring me..." I admitted.

"Well they're a shit friend, whoever they are. I've only talked to you like, I don't know how many times, but you are pretty nice," she pointed out, offering me a smile.

"Thanks!" I laughed. "You're pretty nice too."

"Now can we please go watch Ayden play soccer?" She begged, staring at me with huge eyes. "You promised at Break 1."

Although I had no recollection of this so-called promise, I shrugged.

I sure as hell didn't have anything better to do.

I sat in my last period for the day, shooting daggers at my music teacher as she drew music notes on the board that I didn't recognise.

Obviously seeing my confused expression, she smirked.

"Crystal, care to tell the class what these notes are?"
