It'd been a whole week since I'd spoken to Calum. Ever since he'd hung up the phone...
It felt weird to be honest. My life had been better since he'd come into it but now that he'd gone, it felt strange.
The dreams weren't bothering me that much anymore. I made sure I controlled them to the best of my ability, and tried to get answers from the voice.
I hung out with Sadie a lot at school and sometimes even Zoe and I would get together and she'd update me on her life and such.
But no one really compared to Calum's awkward company.
And now it was a rainy Saturday and I woke up feeling emptier than ever. I turned over in bed and stare out my window.
It was raining.
I watched as the raindrops raced each other frantically to the bottom of the pane. I think I watched them for so long, I lost track of time.
I heard a quiet knock on my door and I jumped, startled.
I shifted my position in bed and saw my mother standing at my doorframe.
"Yes?"
"I've got a shift at work," she confessed. "An emergency."
"Isn't everything an emergency when you work at a hospital?" I mumbled, grabbing my pillow and clutching it to my chest.
"Pretty much, are you okay here alone?" She asked.
"I'm fine," I responded. "I might just sleep for a little bit longer."
My mum replied but I didn't hear her because I already felt myself drifting off, the sound of the rain echoing in my mind.

"Crystal, wake up sunshine!" I heard a yell and suddenly something whacked me in the face and I groaned.
"Zoe, what the hell are you doing here?" My eyes flickered open to see the short brunette standing over me.
"I was bored, Calum was being a moody piece of-"
"I don't need to hear about Calum," I yawned, trying to properly wake up. "How did you even get in here?"
She probably smashed a window and climbed right on in.
"The door was open."
I gave her my I-don't-believe-you look and she rolled her eyes.
"Fine, fine. I used my bobby pin to crack your lock, no biggie."
I just stared at her, trying to decide whether to be surprised or neutral. It was Zoe after all, I wouldn't put anything past her.
"Anyway, I'm actually here with a message from Calum..." Zoe spoke quickly.
My eyes widened and I quickly got up into a sitting position, rubbing my face and getting rid of any sleepy dust in my eyes.
"Jesus, I've never seen anyone come out of a sleep so fast. Anyone would think you're in love with my brother," she froze for a second, giving me a funny look. "You're not are you?"
