Nahush's Point Of View

God! The cake which Malli made! Mazya Bhachya ne tyachya priya Mallika Mami la sangitla ki tyala chocolate cake khaicha ahe te pn gharcha ani Mallika ticha gondas bhachyacha agraha kasa talel? Manun tine aaj sakali chocolate cake bhanavla.

[My nephew told his Mami (Mama's wife) that he wants to eat chocolate cake that is too homemade and how could Mallika ignore her sweet nephew's wish? So this morning she made the chocolate cake.]

The cake looked round, brown, and chocolatey but its icing wasn't looking good. In fact, it looked like she had only poured some chocolate syrup. I was doubtful of its taste and was sure that Nakul would throw up as soon as he ate the cake. But to my shock, he ate the cake moaning to its taste saying, "Mami, cake kiti masta lagto ahe! Mala ajun hava (Mami, the cake is so tasty! I want it more)!"

I thought that my boy was good; and soft-hearted and knew it was not good manners to hurt a girl by saying the food she cooked was not good and said a good lie but then Trupti Didi, my mom, dad, Owi, Nishant, and Vedant Jiju taste it too and they didn't stop complimenting her.

Out of curiosity, I tasted it and I was awestruck. I felt heavenly! It was so soft that it melted in the mouth. It was so chocolaty but not bitter and had a proper amount of sweetness. I never knew the cake which looked weird from the outside was so full of taste. The cake tasted much better than the famous cake shops.

Before the cake gets over, I immediately cut a big piece of it and packed it in a steel lunch box, hiding it from everyone's eyes.

I did not steal it though. The cake was made by my wife so I had full rights on it.

Malli had packed her and my clothes in one luggage bag and another small bag was of food to have during our journey and even as our dinner. Since anyone can open the food bag, I kept the cake box in our luggage back.

Hmm, smart me! I smirked.

Nakul told Shantanu Dada's children about the cake and they started demanding their Malli Attu (Attya~ Father's sister), for the cake. I don't know why I was acting like a kid and I know I should have stopped being a kid and given them the cake so I informed Mallika that there was a tiffin filled with cake in our luggage back and told her to give a little of it to all the kids.

First, she looked shocked. Maybe thinking when did I kept the cake in the lunch box and why did I do that because I did not praise her for the cake? In fact, I didn't even show any kind of emotion while having it.

She masked her shocked state soon and took the entire box to give to the kids but I stopped her. I took a piece of cake first and then told her to give it to them. And I am not lying when I say she smiled and eventually blushed after my act. But the question is, why?

Other trains are coming and going but our Passenger train is super duper late. We had made the reservation for only our return journey and not for the journey from Pune Junction to Jejuri because according to them we don't need any reservation now as we will get lots of empty seats on the train.

Luckily, Rishi had already bought everyone's ticket so we didn't have the tension to wait in a long queue.

Later, an express train started to leave from the platform when a middle-aged couple came late and was trying to catch the train. That man climbed on the running train but his wife wasn't able to. She tried but soon started to cry thinking that now she was left alone and people from that train and platform were looking at her with pity.
