Getting dressed I grabbed the hodni (scarf) as a mere source to cover my shame, he pulled me out of the room. With the pain all over my body especially the lower body, I wasn't able to walk; matching his speed was out of the question.
I pleaded wit...
Doing my morning prayer and reading the holy book, my heart feels a little peace. Keeping the holy book in its place, I marched towards the mirror in an attempt to take a glance to see how I looked but failed because there was no space for me to stand in front of the mirror. Because the area near the mirror is occupied by my cousin sisters. It's good that at least my brothers got ready fast. I thought to go into my parents' room to have a single glance at the mirror but NO! Even that room's mirror is occupied with my family members.
Disappointedly, I reached my room and searched for a space to sit. Finding a small space in the corner of the room, I went and sat there.
In the early morning, everyone started engagement preparation and after completing the remaining preparation they started getting ready for engagement. All were busy getting ready except for me as I was already ready. Since it was my engagement, I was the one to get ready first.
I wore a royal blue colored net saree on me. Moisturizer, foundation, powder, lipstick, kajal on lower and upper waterline, dark blue colored crystal bindi on forehead in-between the eyebrows, and my makeup is done. Avni did my hairstyle by setting my long hair in soft curls despite me telling her not to do so. Taking a few strands of hair from the corner of both sides above the ears, she pinned it together and pinned two mogra gajras horizontally on it.

For jewelry, I wore my mom's gold earrings, my gold chain, and dark green color glass bangles which are worn by Maharashtrian married women and even by the bride during their engagement and wedding. It has always been my dream to wear those beautiful bangles but now when I'm wearing it, I'm not feeling any excitement.
Suddenly I felt a strong cold breeze that felt so good. I moved my head and saw a table fan placed just in front of me. But I never kept it here. Where did it come from?
"Do you wish to ruin that little makeup with sweats?" I raised my head to the sound only to see Diya Didi! My real elder sister.
"Didi!" Shouting with excitement I jumped from the ground and hugged her tightly. She hugged me back, we parted after a few seconds. I was so happy to see her.
