Chapter 3

.•New Friends•.

     Classes here were way different than back in the US. We didn't switch classes here at all, only the teachers switched when the time came. Before I knew it the bell had rang to announce it was lunchtime.
     "Hey (Y/N) since you're knew want to join me and my group of friends for lunch? I think everyone would like you!" Tanjirou asked me as he got out of his desk. Almost everyone had left, but many had stayed behind (which were just girls) and were staring at Tanjirou. How popular was this guy?
     "If that's okay... I really don't mind sitting by myself," I laughed nervously.
     "Nonsense! You won't be sitting by yourself on my watch!!" Tanjirou exclaimed grabbing my hand and pulled me out off my seat. "I promise you'll like them, let's get going before anyone else asks to join."
     Tanjirou walked out of the classroom while holding my hand. "W-Wait Tanjirou! T-This is a bit flustering..." I was blushing like crazy, no guy has ever hold my hand before.
     Tanjirou looked back and suddenly realized what he was doing and rapidly let go of my hand. "I'm so sorry (Y/N)! It's just I have five younger siblings and I'm used to holding their hands!!" Tanjirou's cheeks were now flushed red with embarrassment.
     "It's okay!! Don't worry about it, just give me a warning next time.." I gave him a small smile, I could tell Tanjirou was relieved I didn't say anything bad. I quietly walked behind him as he led me to where the cafeteria door was.
     "Here we are (Y/N)," Tanjirou slid the door opened and we both entered. The cafeteria was huge.. one side of the cafeteria had windows so the sunlight could shine on all the students as they ate. While the other side were the lunch ladies who were giving food trays to each student. The whole cafeteria had long tables except the middle, which had circle tables. "(Y/N)... hold on."
I looked back to see Tanjirou checking something on his phone. I couldn't help but notice that he has a scar on the top of his forehead to the left. I couldn't see it at first, because his hair was covering it.
"HEY MONJIRO!" A guy was waving at us as while he had his tray of food on the other. He was now making his way towards us, and I couldn't help but notice that he looked very pretty and.. feminine. His black hair swayed on his shoulders, but his tips faded to a blue color. His eyes were a beautiful green color, I couldn't help but stare at them.
"My name is Tanjirou not Monjiro, Inosuke!" Tanjirou put his phone away and went to greet the person who's name was Inosuke. I didn't want to bother them so I stayed behind trying not to look awkward, but that was impossible when I didn't look the same as anyone else in this school.
"I'M SAYING IT CORRECTLY MONJIRO! Also who's that girl you're with?!" He suddenly started making his way to me and I shyly looked away. "Hey you.. what's your name?"
Inosuke slowly grabbed a few locks of my (H/C) hair and looked at my (E/C) eyes. I found myself blushing like crazy.. I have never experienced this before.
"M-My name is (Y/N) (L/N)! I'm new to this school and I came from the US.." I quickly backed away from Inosuke, this was not good for my poor heart.
"Ahhh you're the runt that Kanao was bullying this morning." I quickly looked at the floor as he said that, I guess I'm now considered a runt to everyone here.
"Inosuke don't call her that! She has a name!!" Tanjirou was now beside me and gave me a smile. "(Y/N) meet Inosuke he's one of my friends! He can be a bit weird at times but he's fun to hang out with."
"HEY!" Inosuke complained, but didn't say anything back because he knew Tanjirou was right. I gave a soft laugh at Inosuke's complaint which made him blush and look away. "A-Anyways we're sitting over at the long table besides the window in the very back of the cafeteria." Inosuke quickly turned and made his way to the table.
"Let's get lunch first (Y/N), before you meet the rest of my friends." Tanjirou told me, and I nodded as I followed close behind him.
It took awhile just to get our lunches, many girls had come asking for pictures with Tanjirou. Which he kindly accepted.. some even asked for autographs. I had already gotten my lunch and was waiting on him, but it looked like he wasn't going to make it out alive from the whole crowd anytime soon.
After another five minutes Tanjirou finally emerged from the crowd making his way to me. "I'm sorry about that (Y/N), I never thought I would meet a lot of fans at this time.." He laughed which made my heart flutter from hearing it.
"Don't worry about it, it's fine," I wanted to ask him what he meant by fans, but I don't think it was the right time to ask.
We made our way to the table Inosuke had told us about. The table had seven other people sitting there including Inosuke. The problem was.. there was only one other girl sitting there making it two now if you include me.
Tanjirou introduced me to everyone at the table. I also learned everyone's name as well. Muichiro, Zenistu, Giyuu, Rengoku, Obanai, and Mitsuri. They were all really nice people, but I could tell Muichiro and Giyuu were the more silent ones because they just gave me a 'hi.' I also learned that Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Muichiro were first years along with us and are at the same class as us, but all of them woke up late and missed morning classes. How is that even possible? Giyuu and Mitsuri were second years while Obanai and Rengoku were third years. Obanai and Mitsuri were a couple as well and have been together for three years now. How cute!
We spent the whole lunch period talking and laughing. These people were really fun to be with, but occasionally I would notice Giyuu staring at me from the side of my eyes. I didn't think much of it so I just continued talking. Many of them asked me questions about the US and I gladly answered while I asked them questions about Japan and Tokyo. Before I knew it lunch time was already over and we had to say goodbye to each other.
"(Y/N)!! You're so nice I hope we can be good friends! I didn't bring my phone today, but tomorrow let's trade contacts~!" Mitsuri told me with pure joy etched on her face. She gave me a hug as if we've known each other forever.
"Of course Mitsuri!" I smiled at her as she let go of me and started leaving the cafeteria while holding her boyfriend's hand. Must be nice to have such a nice relationship..
"C'mon (Y/N) let's head to class," Tanjirou told me and I couldn't help but smile at him. Things were looking up now, I can't believe I'm having so much fun for my first day! I've met so many great people so far.
The walk back to class was enjoyable talking with Tanjirou, Inosuke, Zenitsu, and Muichiro. They all pushed each other playfully and I laughed when Inosuke accidentally fell into one of the trash bins. The rest of the school day flew by so fast, and it was now time to head back home.
I was grabbing my things until the teacher called out my name, "Yes miss?" I asked a bit worried, "Is something wrong?"
"Oh! It's nothing bad (Y/N), the principal just wants to see you before you go home." She softly responded.
"I see, thank you for telling me!" Grabbing my bag, I told Tanjirou where I was going and said my goodbyes to him and the rest and made my way to the principal's office. I wonder what he wants to tell me, I thought as I slowly stopped in front of principal's office door.

Nezuko is a year younger than Tanjirou meaning she hasn't started high school yet, that's why she isn't there~

Aoi on the other hand is a first year, but she didn't had many friends so she stayed to eat in the classroom's lab... (Y/N) will meet her later on.

Sanemi is the P.E teacher while Himejima is the school's nurse.
