Chapter 4

.•Idols?!•.

I softly knocked on the door.. I was nervous for some reason. Why am I nervous??
"Come in!" I heard a soft male voice call out and I slowly slid to the door to enter.
The office was huge and very spacious. There was legit nothing in the office at all.. just a bare floor and two chairs sitting in front of the principal's desk. There was a small table in the back that had a coffee machine on it and a tiny cactus on the side. 'Cute' I thought to myself.
"Y-You called me here?" I managed to stutter out. Even though I've met the principal just last week, I couldn't help but feel really nervous. I'm not very talkative myself, I was known as the silent student back at my old school.
"Yes I did (Y/N), I wanted to discuss some things with you about the clubs you can join here." I looked at the principal he has black hair that reached all the way to his shoulders. His skin was very pale, and it also seemed like he has a some kind of mark that was covering his forehead just a little. His eyes were of a very light purplish color.
     "I didn't introduce myself back when we first met, so I apologize about that." He gave me a very soft smile and seeing him smile made me want to smile back as well. "My name is Ubuyashiki Kagaya, but everyone in this school either calls me Oyakata-Sama or Oyakata. It was a name given to me by my past student and has been with me since then."
     "Yes sir— I mean Oyakata-Sama!" This was new to me.. I've never referred anyone like this before. Oyakata-Sama urges me to sit down before he continued, so I made my way to one of the nearest chair and sat down.
     "I've read the reports that your school sent me. It says that you were part of the dance club and even the chorus club, may I ask if these things are what you love the most? I want you to have a great first high school year here in Japan." Oyakata was looking through the papers in front of his desks. They were most likely about all the classes and clubs I was in, in my middle school years.
     "Yes! I've been taking dancing classes and singing classes ever since I was small. I told my parents I wanted to join an idol group, they've supported me though idols don't exist in the US..." I trailed off as I said that. I really wanted to join an idol group ever since I first saw one when I was small. It might be childish to many people, but it's still a dream of mine till this day.
     "(Y/N), don't look so down I'm quite happy to know you love such things." Oyakata suddenly said and got up from his chair. "I actually supported an idol group this year. Though this is barely their first year, but they were very popular since middle school and practically every fan came to beg for it to become an official group in this high school."
     "WHAT!" I jumped from my chair.. "AN IDOL GROUP HERE?! I NEVER KNEW!! C-CAN I BE A PART OF IT??" I couldn't hide my sudden emotions now, I now wanted to see this idol group and meet everyone in it.
     "Calm down (Y/N) I would say yes, but you'll have to ask the leader itself. His name is Tanjirou Kamado and he's in the same year as you. He might ask for some kind of tryout, so I recommend you looking for him."
     I was at loss for words.. did I hear that right just now? Tanjirou.. the guy I met today?? HE'S THE LEADER OF THE IDOL GROUP?!
     Oyakata gave me a paper that had all the info about the idol group, and said that was all he had to tell me. That night I stayed up so late reading all about Tanjirou's idol group. The name for his idol group was "The Hashiras," they started their group just last year before they entered high school. It was small at first, but it looked like they gain a few others from their most recent video.
     "He started his own idol group just one year ago.. but the amount of views on the videos are over a million." I couldn't help but listen to all the songs he uploaded on their page "The Hashiras," their was even a YouTube channel. I was looking at Tanjirou perform and I couldn't help but blush when I saw him. He was so cute.. he looked like a whole different person when he performs. I also saw Inosuke, Zenitsu, and even Muichiro. I couldn't believe they were part of the group as well.
     Scrolling through their page I noticed they posted something last week. 'Announcing new members soon so stay tune!!' Tanjirou has recruited more? Wow.. I'll try to asking about it tomorrow. I started reading the comments and it was filled with a lot of fan comments and many that said 'TANJIROU PLEASE DATE ME KYAA~!!" I suddenly felt a bit jealous, but felt embarrassed right after for thinking such a thing.

     I don't remember when, but I fell asleep while scrolling through the comments.
     "(Y/N) wake up!! You're going to be late for school!!" I was shook awake by one of my servants the next morning.
     I looked at the clock besides my bed.. it read 8 am. "OH MY GOD I ONLY HAVE 30 MINUTES BEFORE CLASSES START!" I've never got ready so fast in my life before. I didn't even eat breakfast the servants had made for me, because I was already running late and I wanted to ask Tanjirou about his idol group. It's a ten minute walk.. I can still make if I run!
Finally reaching the school's entrance the realization hit me. I never asked Tanjirou where we would meet today. Oh god (Y/N) why are you like this!!
"(Y/N) over here!!" Tanjirou called and and I quickly turned to see he was sitting on a picnic table under the blooming Cherry Blossom trees along with everyone else.
I made my way to them and smiled brightly. I was really happy to see Tanjirou again, but I was also excited to see everyone. "Hey Tanjirou and everyone else!!" As I greeted everyone, they all were happy to see me as well. They were all talking about normal things, but I went to Tanjirou. "I want to ask you something Tanjirou.. if it's alright."
"Yes of course (Y/N), what is it?" He asked as he gave me a soft smile.
I found myself blushing, "I-Its just I heard about your idol group and I.. I wanted to ask if I could join. I-IF NOT I WANT TO HELP AT LEAST!!" I looked at the ground realizing what I just said.
Tanjirou was now looking at me a bit shocked now and asked how I found out. Everyone else wanted to know as well, so I explained how Oyakata-Sama said I should join because of my singing and dancing experience.
"OMG (Y/N) I WOULD LOVE IT IF YOU JOINED US!!" Mitsuri exclaimed and started hugging me.
"Hmm.. I would love to see you dance and hear your singing (Y/N), but is it okay if we all meet up after school so we can talk about this in more detail? Classes are about to start," Tanjirou said and everyone agreed right away.
I was very excited, is this a step closer to my dream? The rest of the school day went by fast, but Tanjirou acted a bit different. He was observing me closely as if looking for something which made me a bit uncomfortable. After all the classes I was led to their practice room, I couldn't help but smile with excitement.
