Allison

"Allison, please, take care of your sister...when I'm gone" My dad whispered. "You're all each other have"

I sighed. I didn't know what to do. "Dad. This is...insane. Isn't there something you can do, what about Chemo, what about -"

"Allison. I'm sorry. There's nothing anyone can do. I just want to spend what little time I have left with my two little girls"

I stood up and walked towards my Dad, pulling him in for a hug when I was close enough. I began to cry but I quickly rubbed my tears away. I need to stay strong for him.

"I'm sorry," My Dad whispered. "For everything. I'm sorry for lying to the two of you. I thought I was protecting you. I'm so sorry"

"Why does it have to be you, you don't even smoke. It's not fair"

"I asked God that same question" He admitted voice cracking. "I'm leaving the company to both your and Natalie"

"Dad" Under any other circumstances I would have argued with him. Natalie already has her own business, and I would've said that she wasn't his daughter but things have changed now. I wish my Dad would've told me about Natalie years ago, I wouldn't have been so mean to her. I feel awful. "Don't worry, we'll take care of the company and I'll make sure Natalie is okay" I knew that's what he wanted me to say.

"Enough of this. Let's go enjoy this beautiful day"

"Alright Dad"

Zoe and I spent the whole day at Dad's house. We ate, we watched basketball together. Silence filled the air and I found my eyes watering every time I took a moment to look at him. My Dad has always been a fan of capturing moments on Camera, the pictures on the wall of him, Natalie and I weren't the same anymore. Everytime I looked at them, I saw a dying father, a selfish blonde and a tiny look alike that just wanted to be loved. Dad kept us sheltered from the reality that was our family.
