Chapter 2

The sound of my alarm clock startle me to death. I slowly open my eyes one by one still adjusting on the bright light reflecting down my room. I lazily got my phone on my bedside cabinet.

There was 3 unread messages from Jenny, Nash and Jack. The last one caught me off guard as my trembling hands opened the first text.

Jenny: See you later at the party! xx
Nash: Don't forget the party sis.
Jack: Sorry.

I hesitated to delete the 3rd text but then deleted it after a minute. I am totally aware that there would be a one hell of a party later, so I should probably search for good clothes.

I stand up, walking towards my bathroom with wobbly legs and messy hair. I brushed my teeth first since my breath smells like dead pig and took a bath next.

After I bathe myself, I opened my closet and realize all these clothes are used, not just used but always used. And besides they look so common and I guess I wore them all the time.

I decided to wear a denim jeans, a Can U Not crop top and a pair of H & M sandals. Left my hair hang loosely and added light make-up onto my face.

I ran downstairs grabbing my bag and phone. Nash seated on the couch playing his video games, cursing.

"Nash, gonna go somewhere." I said and he pauses his game. "Okay, by the way. Mom and Dad called." he said emotionless.

"Then?" I asked annoyed. Mom and Dad left since I was 16. They said they need to work for a brighter future but its been 3 years and they only visit us once a year.

"They'll come 4 days from now." he explained.

Febuary 14. My birthday. The day I changed. I took a deep breath and nod.

"Mhm, I'll go now. I'll just text you when I'm done getting ready." I said dryly and rushed outside, escaping from my thoughts.

Here I am, walking in the mall, currently nowhere to go and my feet hurts like it has been punched by a giant. I decided to get help from Jenny since she's my fashion doctor.

She arrived 10 minutes after my text. We have been strolling through boutiques for 20 minutes now but nothings good yet.

"This is our last chance." Jenny muttered while looking at the Forever 21 sign.

We entered in and the saleslady greeted us with a warm smile.

"We gotta split, I'll be here, you'll be there." Jenny pointed the left side and the right and we both parted ways.

I walk slowly as I savour each moment of watching the beautiful clothings in front of me. A dress caught my eye as I move closer. It has the nude color of light pink with a line of laces in the neckline. It looks so gorgeous.

I search for Jenny and her eyes was stuck on the hot guy half naked on the small billboard. Typical Jenny.

I'm jumping for her to notice me and at last her eyes locked with mine. I signaled her to come and she quickly run towards me.

"So, did you find any good clothes?" she asked with her eyes in delight. I nod and showed her the dress I found.

"Oh My God! This is so cute!" she squealed and I laugh. "I know right." I agree with her. "Come on, fit it!" she pushed me towards the fitting room and I oblige.

I look at myself in the mirror still in a shock state since I look so different. The good different. I look so innocent the way I was before.

The color makes it more nicer and elegant. It's been a while since I've dressed this formal. Usually I dress really weird and slutty.
