"Good morning family " I spoke as I entered the kitchen walking over to my mom who was sitting at the table drinking coffee. I bended over and kissed her on the cheek. "Good morning to you too sweetie, your in a really good mood this morning" my mother said as she smiled at me taking a bite of her breakfast. I grabbed me a plate and putting some of the things I eat on it such as eggs, fillos, bacon and fruit.
As I sat down Marina entered the kitchen she had a smile on her face as well. I thought she would still be mad at Guzman and I over the fight. Even though I didn't cause the fight I just didn't really know what to expect from her today. "Good morning guys!" She said in a cheery voice as she came and sat down making her plate.
"Wow both of you are in a really good today..I wonder what happened?" Our mom said as she looked between both of us probably wondering what or whom got both of her daughter's in such a good mood in such a early hour before school.
The mother knew her daughter's wasn't really early morning risers especially Marina. The time was 7:30 am this was usually the time Marina would get up for school if Lolita didn't wake her up.
Marina and I both looked at each other smirking at each other then we just started laughing uncontrollably. Mom looked between both of us laughing a little herself ..she couldn't help but laugh a little herself "what has got into the both of you?"
We eventually stopped laughing looking at our mom. She waited for a response until one of us eventually spoke "it's Friday " Marina said to her. Our mom looked a little confused then it hit her "ohhh..yess girls no school for two days" she said. I nodded to her "yes and I'm really going to be thankful of these two days in particular this week was a little stressful but I got through it."
"Good morning mom...Lolita" we heard the voice of Guzman turning our heads in his direction as he came over to us. "Good morning darling, why didn't you speak to your sister?" Mom said referring to Marina, I caught Marina rolling her eyes at him. "We're not on speaking terms right now" he said shrugging his shoulders.
Mom looked at him like he was stupid "speaking terms?" "Marina is your sister your going to always be on speaking terms...and I don't know what happened between you two but you better apologize to each other and get over it...your siblings and life is too short to hold grudges" she finished.
I nodded my head agreeing with mom "mom is right " I told him. They just looked at each other still not saying any.
"I'm not going to ask you two again..if I do keys will be handed to me and you will both will walking to school" she said with all seriousness.
