"Oh yeah?" I ask softly, wrapping my arms around Miles' neck. "And what would that be?"
He doesn't answer.
Instead, he leans in and presses his lips to mine.
The kiss catches me off guard—firm, warm, full of intent. My breath hitches, and for a second I pull back, searching his face.
"I like the sound of this," I murmur before kissing him again.
This time, there's no hesitation. His hands find my waist, pulling me closer as the kiss deepens. The world outside my room disappears—no Kate, no Flora, no rules. Just us.
His lips trail from my mouth to my neck, sending shivers down my spine. I let out a quiet gasp, and he pulls back just enough to smirk, clearly pleased with himself.
"Alright," I whisper, heart racing. "My turn."
I tug at his shirt, pushing him back onto the bed as it comes off. I climb on top of him, straddling his hips, my confidence surprising even me. I kiss him again—slower this time, deeper—before tossing my shorts aside.
He mirrors my movements, his hands careful but eager, like he's memorising every inch of me. When he looks at me, really looks, I feel my cheeks heat—but the way his eyes soften tells me he doesn't see flaws. Only me.
We stay like that for a moment, breathless, foreheads touching.
"Hey," he says quietly. "Are you... sure?"
I smile, brushing my thumb along his jaw before kissing him again, softer this time. "Positive."
That's all it takes.
The rest of the world fades as we fall together, wrapped in warmth, trust, and something that feels dangerously close to forever.

Later, everything is quiet.
We lie tangled in the sheets, the room filled with the soft rhythm of breathing. I turn onto my side and find Miles already asleep, his arm still around me, curls falling into his eyes.
He looks different like this—peaceful, unguarded.
I gently run my fingers through his hair, pulling the blanket over us both. As sleep finally claims me, only one thought echoes in my mind.
Wow.
