Chapter 19

Andy's POV

     I had been feeling a little more pressure and some pain through out the night, but I was always able to go back to sleep. The pain got more intense around three in the morning and I was no longer able to sleep. I decided to wake Robert up a few minutes later.

Andy: Robert wake up.

Robert: Andy go back to sleep.

Andy: Robert I think I am in labor.

     He shot up after that and looked at me with fear in his eyes.

Andy: Ahh. 

Robert: Breathe Andy you got this.

Andy: Okay I am good for a few more minutes you should get Carina.

Robert: You got this.

Robert's POV

     I ran down stairs and knocked on Maya's door. I knocked for around five minutes before she came to the door.

Maya: Chief?

Robert: Andy is in labor.

Maya: Okay I will get Carina.

     I ran back upstairs and into my office to find Andy sitting on the bunk bearing through another contraction. I held her hand and we waited for Carina and Maya.

Carina: Okay Andy let's see how far along you are.

     Maya shut the door and Andy laid back on my bunk.

Carina: Looks like you are around six centimeters dilated. You should have a baby before tomorrow. I will have to break your water though.

Andy: Okay do it.

     Carina broke Andy's water and then they gave us some space.

Andy: Will you grab the bag?

Robert: Here.

     I watched her grab out some new shorts and she slipped those on.

Robert: How do you feel?

Andy: I just want to sleep.

Robert: Okay come on.

     I cuddled her in my arms and she fell asleep shortly after.

Andy's POV

     I fell asleep and woke around seven the next morning. The pain hit me almost immediately and I tried to breathe through it. When the contraction was over I woke Robert again.

Robert: How do you feel?

Andy: It hurts.

Robert: I know I'm sorry baby.

Andy: This baby cannot come now. I'm only seven and a half months. It's still early.

Robert: Hey it will be okay we have the best OB in Seattle with us.

Andy: I feel another coming.

Robert: Come here.

     He pulled me up to his chest and we started swaying back and forth. We swayed throughout my contraction. When it was over Carina came in and asked if she could check to see how dilated I was.

Carina: You are about seven centimeters. The whole team wants to know how you are doing.

Andy: Tell them that I am fine.

Carina: I will be back in an hour and in the mean time try to relax.

Robert: Thanks.

     She left and I just wanted to cry. The pain was unbearable and I was only seven centimeters along. I felt the next one coming and leaned into Robert. The swaying helped me breathe and it felt good to be in his arms. 

Andy: Thank you for being with me.

Robert: Wouldn't have it any other way.

     I put all my body weight on him and just let him hold me through the pain. I had been in labor for hours and was only dilated to a seven and a half. It was around dinner time and Robert hadn't eaten anything.

Andy: You should eat.

Robert: I'm fine.

Andy: You barely ate yesterday and you haven't eaten today. 

Robert: Who will stay with you.

Andy: Get Maya.

Robert: Are you sure?

Andy: Go.

     I watched him leave and Maya walk in.

Maya: How are you feeling?

Andy: Like a baby is trying to push it's way out of my very tiny whole.

Maya: What can I do.

Andy: Sway with me.

Maya: What?

Andy: Robert does it and it helps.

Maya: Okay.

     We started swaying and then she asked me a question.

Maya: So is it like stabbing pain or shooting.

Andy: It is like a period cramp, but one hundred times worse.

Maya: I'm sorry, but look on the bright side you are going to have a baby after this. Now is that baby going to be a boy or a girl.

Andy: I am not telling you.

Maya: It was worth a try.

Andy: Robert and I wanted to ask you and Carina to be baby's Godmothers.

Maya: Yes. One hundred times yes.

Andy: Okay tell me something.

Maya: I'm gonna ask Carina to marry me.

Andy: That's good. I always liked you too. I give you my blessing.

Maya: I didn't know I needed your permission.

Andy: Yes you did.

Maya: You are right.

Andy: Always am.

     Robert walked in and took over Maya's spot. We spent the next few minutes before Carina walked in and got ready to check me.
