An agreement

I returned late from work, I rang the bell and then realized that Gran is not at home. She usually waits until I get home.

I began rummaging through my bag looking for the keys the weather is unpleasant looks like there will soon be a downpour.

While I was digging into my bag, I hear few footsteps approaching in my direction and soon a shadow startled me.

Who could it be a burglar, murderer, kidnapper, or a .... thoughts start running across my head  when a tap on my shoulder caused me to pull something out of my bag and point towards him.

"Hey! you better get going...you come near me and I'll call the cops... you'll regret it"I say with my hands trembling with fear but soon my words faded looking at the man's face.

"Dad....." I said putting down the object that was pointing towards him my nail filer🤷 seriously Y/N a nail filer🤦.

And here you go it started raining😣. What's with the weather today? Some kinda storm? Shaking off all my thoughts I put my hand in my bag again here you are 🔑 finally I opened the door quickly and hear my father's footsteps follow me.

I place my bag and few files on the table and walk towards the dining room. "So this is how you would defend yourself?" He says as he makes himself comfortable on the sofa.

"What brings you here Dad? And this late?" I say as I place a glass of water on the coffee table and look at the clock. "My flight got delayed" he said as he took a sip of water and placed it on the table. "Why don't you sit" he says pointing to the sofa opposite him.

"What news did you bring that I have to sit and hear" I say sarcastically pulling out my phone from my bag and sitting on the sofa.

"I have a proposal...ummm...so here's the thing..." He tries to say something. "Dad I'm not interested in any of your business proposals!" I cut him off.
"I've had enough already so please you have your son and I'm sure he wouldn't mind helping you." I say getting up to look through some files.

"Y/N, Jimin can't help me in this" he says almost frustrated. "Why? Why not?" I ask as I place the files on the coffee table and sit on opposite side with my hands crossed ready to listen his justification.

"It's a marriage proposal Y/N!" He almost screams. "It's a what?!" I yell out. "You heard me right! It is a marriage proposal" he says slowly lowering his voice. I could sense something here.

"I want you to marry Kim Shi's son, infact I have already given my word there and now I can't back out."He says with ease in his voice and expressions calm.

"What?!" I howl, his calm expressions causing my anger to rise another level.

"What made you think I'll agree to this?" I shrieked causing him to gasp .

"You being my father abandoned me right after I lost my mother! I was only six Dad!" Tears started streaming down my cheeks.

"Is it my fault that I resemble Mom? Do you know how awful it was for me when you sent me to another country? Away from you? Not only that You married again! My whole world changed! I was too small to understand the reason why I was sent away" I couldn't control myself anymore.

"Why weren't you there I needed you, Dad? Gran made me the person I am today, she has all the rights to get me married" I say looking into his eyes.

He just kept looking at my face. "Y/N, I'm sorry, I know there's nothing that can be fixed from the past but, now you are the only one who can help me out of this crisis." He walks towards me.

"Your mom helped me making this company where it is today. Like you she too was a businesswoman. Would you want your mother's hardwork to fall in else's hands? Isn't it your duty to help your helpless father?"

He holds my hands and looks at me. "It's only for a year, later you could break off, just help me this once, please" he joined his hands.

"Dad please don't do this" I clutch his joined hands. "Only for this Company" I agree.

*Time skip*

"I don't believe you have agreed to this Y/N" says my cute angry grandmother with her face turned away from me.

"Gran, do you trust me?" I turn her towards me and sit on the ground and hold her warm hands. "Years ago he sent me away because I resemble my mother, he remarried another woman, of course I'm angry with him.

It's just that he is in need of help now and it can be settled only through this marriage." I say looking at her extremely worried face.

"I need to know the entire truth, Y/N" she said sternly damn it! There's nothing that can be hidden from her.

"The company is in trouble..." I said as I sighed knowing that she'll get the truth out of me anyways blurt out Y/N.

"Wh...What kind of trouble?" She says with serious expressions. "The reputation is at stake...Dad had signed a contract with a foreign company. This company had a clause mentioned in the contract that, if consignment hadn't been delivered in time, they would repudiated it along with 3 other companies who are one of the biggest investors in the business. Dad needs to make payment and there aren't any funds, so Kim Shi agreed to help..." I said resting my head on her lap.

"Kim has agreed to help on the condition that you marry his son?" she connected the dots. "Yeah" I sat as I lift my head. "So now will you...."I could sense her worry "I'll be fine Gran, your Y/N is not easy to defeat" I say hoping for the best.
