for most of the ride ally was fast asleep and i figured that she has been through enough already so i let her be, i listened to my music thinking about meeting with my parents again

i loved back home because it was somewhere i felt safe but what i didn't love was whenever my parents had something to say to me it was never something i would want to sit and listen to

it's their way or no way and i absolutely hated it. i remember once when they enrolled me in a student nursing program one summer and it was absolute hell, i hated everything there from the people to the stuff we had to do

i kept on trying to tell my parents that i wanted nothing to do with medicine but they would never listen to me and overtime i just gave up fighting with them because it was a losing battle.

now that i'm old enough to make my own decisions they can't force me to do anything, the only thing they can do is make their suggestions which i'm done listening to.

after about 2 or 3 hours the bus pulled up in front of a building, this would be where we got off and i noticed that there was a bus stop i'm guessing for those who would have to travel further

i had texted my sister earlier letting her know where to come get me and she said that she would be there in fifteen minutes.

i nudged ally who was fast asleep in my lap and she groaned before getting up stretching her arms out, "we here?" she asked in a sleepy tone. "we're gonna wait here a bit, kayla said she's gonna be here in fifteen minutes" i told her and she got up adjusting her jacket.

the guy from earlier helped us with our bags once again and i smiled at him as he handed me my last bag, "thank you" i told him and he nodded

i went to stand beside of ally who had her hands in her pockets just looking at the sky, i playfully nudged her shoulder with my elbow asking if she was okay and she let out a slight giggle which warmed my heart.

after being there a couple minutes i saw my sister's benz pull up near us. kayla got out and ran over pulling me into a tight hug, "there's my favorite rule breaker" she said as she pulled away from me

"hey kay, wassup" i said to her and she smiled. kayla and ally exchanged greetings before she helped us with our bags packing them in the trunk of her car

we got in and kayla pulled off. the majority of the ride was mostly us catching up but then there was a weird silence, the silence was soon broken by kayla's voice "mom and dad missed you" she said looking over at me

"what they missed was someone to baby all the time" i responded and i could see her expression change

"you know they're just doing what's best for you right?" she kept her eyes on the road as she spoke

"that's easy for you to say, you're doing exactly what they want you to do" i looked through my window, i didn't want our first conversation in months to turn into a fight so i just kept quiet for the rest of the ride

"i'll always support you tho" kayla reached over for my hand and i wrapped my hand in hers.

my sister and i had a pretty good relationship, she never left me out of anything and she was always there to stand up for me even though she partially agreed with my parents.

i watched as we passed by familiar buildings, the park where i broke a boy's nose for calling ally ugly, our old middle school, our high school, our favorite spot to eat and our neighborhood.

we pulled up to ally's house first deciding it would be rude to go to our house before taking her home.

i helped ally with her bags bringing them up to her front porch, she had held unto the rose jay gave her like her life depended on it. we checked to make sure that she had all her bags and i hugged her one last time
