«Grief and Loss comes in five parts. The first is Denial. Escalating next to Anger, Bargaining and Depression, thus ending with Acceptance»
The recent incident mentioned by professor Schuyler earlier in the forest regarded two petrified bodies recovered in the girl's dormitory that morning, one in the front lobby and the other on the upper floor. Upon arrival at the scene, they were already covered up with white sheets not to hurt susceptibilities.
Her eyes pinned to the scene, she couldn't help the emotions spinning through her. She thought she could control her emotions, but she was mistaken. Her spirit was broken and she didn't know how much more loss she could handle. Why must life be that cruel to people? Each time she would start to feel even a sliver of happiness, it was ripped from her like a quick-bandage. It seemed that everywhere she looked, there was danger lurking around, ready to lurch at humanity. There was so much a human could endure.
Aurora's knees buckled and she dropped to the floor in front of her room, hands shaking and her mind only focused on the vision she had earlier; the sense of fear and panic playing on the screens on the back of her eyelids along with the sick nightmare of a girl running for her dear life. She threw her arms around her friend's neck and buried her face in her shoulder, hoping she wouldn't notice that she had started crying. For the next couple of minutes, the other girl held her in silence, soothing her hair in a comforting gesture.
"Liz," A man in black approach the two girls, making the one with pigtails turn her head in his direction, a look of sadness covering her features. She too had been crying, her eyes were shot-red and her nose was swollen."You're required in the Prefect's office."
Liz hastily acknowledged the information. She cleaned the remaining tears and spoke softly to Aurora. "Aurora, sweetie? Hey..." She guided Aurora's chin up and towards her. "Listen... Klaus has summoned me, I really must go. Okay? But, for the time being, I'll leave Carbuncle here to keep you company." A pink fur-ball jumped from Liz's head and leaped onto Aurora's arms, who accepted it without question. "Just promise me you won't do anything rash and stay in the room."
Aurora wasn't exactly sure where to go from there or how she felt about everything that had just happened inside those four walls, so she chose to stay quiet and not promise something that she knew she wouldn't be able to keep.
"I'll take that as yes," Liz's presence was reassuring to our heroin but, the fact that the rug had been pulled out under her feet so abruptly, made that have very little significance, not quite helpping at that moment, "I'll see you tonight." then, got up brushed the dust off of her skirt and adjusted her cloak on the collar, then stretched her hand out to Aurora to help her get up as well.
"Don't worry about classes today, the headmaster have already canceled them. Just stay inside and not wonder around alone." Professor Schuyler spoke, "And, that's a direct order, Aurora."
She looked up and flared him a look of contestation. He couldn't possibly be serious about staying indoors at a time like this.
"For the King's sake... Stay. In. Your. Room." He said, then spun around and started walking away, the tail of his cloak giving the movement a bit of a dramatic vibe. He paused shortly and sternly called out to Liz,"Let's go."
"Y-Yes, professor." Liz gathered herself and quickly caught up with him.
Aurora watched their backs disappear in the distance as both descended the stairs to the front lobby. "What am I going to do?" She looked at Carbuncle with a troubled gaze.
