My heart threatened to burst out of my chest. Blood was pounding in my ears. Wait did he just say that he loves me? Wait why did I feel happy? Then I remembered my mom saying that if a person makes you happy then you love him. Oh god. What was I supposed to say?
"Its okay if you don't feel the same way." He said quickly. "I wasn't expecting an answer anyway so..."
"I love you too." I said cutting him off. For a minute he was dumbstruck. Then his lips formed into a wide smile. We just stood there looking at each other for a moment not sure what to say.
Then he stepped forward but I didn't back away. He wrapped his arms around my waist and rested his chin on my shoulder. I tentatively put my arms around his neck. I could feel the hard muscles on his shoulder. I breathed in his smell. His smell reminded me of beaches and oceans. The salty smell of the ocean and the cool breeze.
"You smell good." He mumbled into my hair.
I chuckled. "Yeah? What do I smell of?"
"Lavender. I love lavendars." I chuckled. My God. He was so sweet.
"Well you smell of ocean." I said. He pulled his head back to look at me. He suddenly turned serious.
"I need to ask you something."
"Okay. Go ahead."
"What is your age?" I looked at him for a second and then burst out laughing.
"Seriously?" I shook my head.
"What? You want me to go first? Okay. I stopped growing at the age of twenty three. Now your turn."
"Wow I'm younger than you. I stopped growing at the age of twenty one." He bent down to kiss my cheek. I smiled. The street was filling up with people so I gently untangled Ash's arms around me.
"How about we go for lunch? Our first date. The venue is your pick." I said.
He thought for a moment. "Okay. Done. But I want to keep the venue a surprise." I chuckled. We just stared at each other for a moment. Then I quickly pecked Ash on the lips and crossed the road after checking both sides. I turned to see that Ash stood frozen in his place and his eyes were wide. I waved at him and he waved back. Looked like he had overcome his moment of shock. I looked around to see that nobody was paying attention to me. I used a camouflage spell and spread my wings. I looked at Ash one last time before I shot up into the air and extended my wings.
I patiently stood in middle of the ring with my brothers circling me. I had a blindfold on but I could trace them just by their breathing. I heard someone attacking me from right so I swirled out of the way. Another attack from my left and I swirled away again. This continued for a few times until I heard their heavy breathing. I smiled. Good. They were getting tired. So my plan was working.
I suddenly felt them circle me again. This time they didn't attack me. Okay this is new. But I decided to play along so I just stood there doing nothing. I heard Ro and Ra attack me from behind. Hmmm. I jumped in the air and somersaulted over them and landed in a perfect crouch. They both charged with their swords pointing inwards. I held up my swords so that their swords clashed with mine. I heard a noise from behind so I jumped up in the air and landed in a perfect crouch. One of them charged at me with a staff but I knocked it out of his hand. I heard the clash of metal behind me and ducked just in time. I battled Ro and Ra full on. I sent one of their swords flying away somewhere and I disarmed the other. All this while Sid was calm. I didn't lift my blindfold for a sneak peek. I stood there, patiently waiting for him.
I heard a clank of metal and spun around just in time as both of our swords clashed. Metal against metal. We battled for a few moments before I disarmed him and pointed my sword at his throat. I finally lifted my blindfold to see Sid standing there, panting. I looked around to see that Ro and Ra were on the floor and Sammy was sitting on one of the benches, breathing hard. I grinned and lowered my sword.
"It's not fair. You always win." Sammy complained.
"If you train hard then maybe you can come close to defeating me. I said maybe." I added and put my sword along with the other swords.
"How do you even understand where we attack from with your eyes closed?" Ro questioned.
"You guys breathe really loudly." I said.
They all chuckled. I checked the clock. It was Sunday today so no classes. It was twelve noon. Ash agreed to pick me at twelve thirty. I had told him the address. "Hey, um, guys I gotta go. I have a date." Everyone looked at me when I said the word 'date'. "Relax guys. I can handle him. If I can handle all of you then I'm pretty sure I can handle him." I added and headed towards my bedroom.
I took a quick shower and washed my hair. I looked in the mirror to see that my eyes were now purple. So to match my eyes I wore my favourite dress. It was dark violet which came till my knees and sleeveless. It was cinched at the waist. The violet satin came till my mid thighs and it was covered by lace which came till my knees. The upper part too had lace on top of satin. It was a little body hugging, showing off my curves. I added beige high heels and my bracelet which literally went with everything. I gathered my hair in a ponytail and put on light make up to finish the look. I grabbed my purse and took my phone and lipstick which was actually a laser thrower if needed. I took one last look at myself and headed down the stairs. I reached the hall to see that Ash was engaged in a deep conversation with my dad and my brothers.
When his eyes landed on me, his lips stretched into a smile.
