I looked up to see flame coming to get me, rapidly gaining speed. Just when it was inches away, I felt someone pull me away roughly. I felt someone shaking my shoulders. Then I felt someone slap me. I felt the burn on my cheek and immediately came back to reality. "Who hit me?!" I ordered, my hand ready to slap that person. I lowered it when I saw Ash was staring at me, no sorry, gaping at me.
"Seriously? All it takes one slap to bring you back to reality? Man, I should've done that before." He said, shaking his head. That was when it hit me. Shruti's death, my outburst of power and my near-death experience. But I couldn't break down now. I blinked away the tears that were threatening to spill from my eyes and went into agent-mode.
"What's the situation?" He seemed a little surprised at my question. He probably thought he had to give me a speech on how I should be composed now and fight instead of fretting on these emotions.
"Ok. Well, Hamla had just attacked you. Well he is still out there. In fact, he is the only one out there. He has turned into some kind of monster." My eyes widened. This was mentioned in my mom's book. He was apparently some tribrid of elemental, demon and vampire.
"I have an idea. You distract him. I'll do the rest."
"Wait. What are you going to do?"
"Trust me. I'll be fine. Now go, distract him." He looked at me for a moment too long and kissed me passionately, before going out of our hiding position and distracted him. I went from around the back. Hamla had into some kind of a octopus monster. From waist up he was normal and from waist down he had tentacles, like an octopus. I suspected he would have three hearts.
I took out my trident and lunged at him, but his tentacle caught me, in mid-attack. He turned to see me and smirked. I cursed silently. His tentacle brought me closer to him and it took me every bone in my body to struggle in his grip. He punched my cheek hard and it burned, but I didn't flinch instead I spat the blood in my mouth on his face. That momentarily made him loosen his grip. I freed myself and extended my wings. I tried to attack him but his tentacles gave him an advantage. Also, his fire powers and vampire speed and strength. Ash was also trying to attack him but he swung one of his tentacles and it sent Ash flying into the wall. He broke through it and fell to the ground.
I roared and plunged my trident into his shoulder. He seemed surprise rather than being hurt and pulled it out of him. The wound instantly closed up. That gave him the element of surprise. His tentacle caught me and sent me flying through glass walls before my back hit a solid wall and slid to the ground. My vision had turned blurry but I could see him advancing at me. He sent a shot of flame at me but Ash came into my way, spraying water at him. They both were going back and forth. I had to recover quickly. I quickly shot upwards, brushing pieces of glass and debrise off of me. I flapped my wings quickly to generate wind. I focused and created a tornado, but it was flickering slightly. I looked at them going back and forth. Ash was losing. I focused my energy on the tornado and directed it at Hamla. It took him away, with him screaming and swirling rapidly along with the tornado. Ash collapsed to his knees, breathing hard. I fell to the ground with a thud and everything went dark.
When I opened my eyes, I couldn't locate Hamla or Ash anywhere. I lifted my head up a little to see that Sid, Sammy, Ro, Ra, dad, Ashley and Ash were battling Hamla, head-on. I got up slowly and it hurt in every movement I took. My trident was lying only a few feet away. I took it quickly and flipped it into the air to turn it into bow and arrow. Wait. My blood would be more effective. I cut my palm with my arrow and stopped the urge to wince. The arrowhead had enough blood of mine. I stood up ready to shoot. I had to find an opening. I positioned myself at the side. It was hard since he was changing his position. But when Ashley moved out of my way to attack , but was flung aside by his tentacle, that was when I took the shot. It went straight through his armpit, piercing each of hearts. The other end protruded from his other armpit. He roared loudly and I had to cover my ears. He collapsed to the ground in a pool of his golden ichor. His form vanished, indicating that he had gone to hell. I extended my wings and shot up.
With one last outburst of energy, I send light magic outwards, allowing it to fill the entire room and restore the losses made by Hamla. Then everything went dark and I fell into darkness.
