Ariella slicked her hair into a bun and made her way to ICT. She made sure her sleeves were down so no one could see she was cutting. She walked in taking a seat in the back row. As she waited for the class to begin she went on her phone. She scrolled past her explore page wishing she was lighter.

She recognized her as Kayla's older sister. She prayed and wished to be that pretty even though she already was. Her thoughts were interrupted by boys rushing in and girls coming in snapchatting. Everyone went to their seats except Miyah. She introduced herseslf as Kayla's sister and said her age. She sat in the front seat and plsyed with her pen. Ariella tryed to stay focused but it wasn't working.
She wrotes notes in her book and looked at the board again. She still didn't understand what the teacher was saying. Arielle went on her phone waiting to go to the next lesson. She wished Kayla, Kira or Vanessa was with her so they could crack jokes.
Her thoughts were interrupted when someone tapped her on the shoulder. She looked up to see Keith. He asked for a spare pen and he gave it to her. He said thank you and turned back around. There were thirsty girls mugging her for speaking to their 'man'. She didn't even see why they kept trying when he said he's not looking for a relationship. She mugged them back and gave a fake smile.
Arielle went to sit at her normal lunch table waiting for the others. Kayla came laughing with her boy bestie Lucas. They sat down and said hi. A few minutes later, Kira and Vanessa came with Jamell and Jordan. She smiled as they sit down wishing she had a boy bestie. She felt like no one cared about her but her even though they did.
Kira asked if she was okay and she lied saying yes. After, Miyah came and Kayla gave her a bear hug. She laughed and sat down next to Ariella. They asked her what she was here for and she said she burned her assigned room and injured 5 security guards. They looked at her and laughed. Arielle put on a fake laugh to make it seem like she was happy. But, that wasn't and never will be the case.
She was waiting for the for the bell to ring so she cold stop the fake act. She wished she could be as pretty as everyone else, but she didn't see her beauty except the people around her. She wished she was lighter like her sister Kira so her dad would stop making colorist jokes.
She scrolled through her instagram explore page wishing she was as pretty as them.

She stood up saying she had to go to her room. Arielle ran to her room crying bumping into Keith. She wiped her tears and continued running.
Arielle cut deeper into an old wound watching as blood pour out. It was her sixteenth time this week. All of a sudden, she felt dizzy and fell to the ground. Blood kept pouring out her arms and Keith was passing by when he heard a thud.
He went to Arielle's room and saw her clinging to life. He called for help and tried to stop the blood. The ambulance came and put her on a stretcher taking her away to a nearby hospital. They asked family memers and friends to come so Kira and her friends did. Just because he saved her, they let Keith come with them. The group of kids were outside waiting for the person who could give some of their blood to save Arielle.
''The only blood that matches is Keith's''
They all looked at him and he agreed to go on with the blood transfusion. Kira hugged him repeatedy saying thank you.
30 minutes later
Arielle is asleep and hasn't woken up yet. The visiting hours are over so they go back to the mental institution.
