In the Gryffindor common room the clock struck 3 in the morning. The Marauders were all on the couch (which was a bit too small for them.)
Remus' pov
James was sitting on one end, a muggle cigarette in his fingers. Peter was asleep in between James and me, his head resting gently on James' shoulder. I was in between Peter and Sirius, playing with a chocolate wrapper on the table in front of me. My head was resting on Sirius' shoulder, his arm gently wrapped around my shoulders. I looked up at him and all I could think was 'man am I lucky to have him'. Just as I had looked back down at the chocolate wrapper I felt Sirius' free hand gently rest on my thigh. I look back up at him and smile, "I love you Pads," is all I said before cuddling against him, my arms around his waist. I just barely heard him say, "I love you too Moons," before I fell asleep against him.
