Fairy Tail: Mind Games

Chapter Six

Erza and Gray were leading the way down the shorelines trying to find any weak spot in the dome-barrier but to no avail.

"Dammit!" Erza yelled her emotions overwhelming her. She felt like a failed leader. Her comrades died while she was leading and now her team was stuck on Cantrell Island with no way of contacting home. Natsu already tried attacking the barrier but it shocked him tremendously. Lucy tried using Virgo to dig under but the barrier was underground also.

"It's getting pretty dark.. I think we should find a place too sleep." Gray pointed out. No one opposed as they were all very tired. Erza took them to a cave that had plush soft grass, it was cooler inside of it shielding them from the heat outside. They all set out their sleeping bags and collapsed to the ground in exhaustion. The cave was a little cramped forcing Lucy closer to Natsu but she didn't mind. Everyone but Lucy had instantly fallen asleep while Lucy couldn't sleep. She just stared at Natsu whose mouth was parted slightly making low snoring noises. Happy was laying on the other side of him murmuring something in his sleep. All of the sudden, Lucy felt an arm pull her even closer to Natsu. All of her grief, worry and anxiety faded away at his touch. She smiled a bit closing her eyes.

"I love you Natsu.." She whispered then dozed off.

Levy and Gajeel were watching the projection in front of them closely. Their friends were just getting up from their slumber getting ready to take on the day. Levy kept a close eye on Lucy making sure she was okay. She remembered what she saw last night she thought it was adorable.

"Gajeel, Don't you think Lucy and Natsu would be a good couple?" Levy asked a slight glimmer in her eye.

Gajeel waved his hand dismissing the questions and laid back on the couch "I don't really care honestly"

"Oh! Pay attention to the projection you guys! It's about to get good Mark just sent a new threat!" Jesha exclaimed sitting criss-crossed on the floor twiddling his thumbs like a child.

Levy and Gajeel were now on the edge of their seats seeing what new threat was coming to their friends.

"Ah crap.." Erza murmured as she fell to the floor. They were in the middle of fighting giant vines that entangled your body parts. One got ahold of her and twisted her knee until she heard a snap she sliced it off with her sword hissing in pain. Soon all the vines retreated back to their original plant.

"You okay Erza?" Gray asked offering his hand out to her

"Yeah.. I just don't think I can walk." Erza replied taking his hand then throwing her arm over Grays shoulder. Then, everyone headed for the shoreline to see any hope of escaping.

Natsu covered his nose smelling something disgusting. The group continued walking along the barrier in hope that they would be able to escape somehow. Natsu stopped abruptly.

"Shit.. Run.." He muttered pointing to the giant wall of radiation coming toward them. Radiation fog was usually uncommon in Earthland it has only been naturally produced twice in all of time. But, Natsu's nose knew better this was human-made not nature-made.

"Hurry lets go!" He yelled again the radiation advancing. He grabbed the stunned Lucy's hand and started running. Gray now carried Erza in his arms but was tiring quickly. The radiation- fog kept coming but at a more rapid pace. Lucy kept stumbling on her steps falling behind them all but Natsu made sure she was always a minimum of three feet away from him. Gray had sweat dripping off his forehead he was beyond tired he didn't get the greatest sleep last night and fighting off those vines was hard. Grays legs finally gave up and he fell dropping Erza along with him. Parts of the fog coming touched his skin. It burned his skin off in some places. Erza and Gray screamed catching Lucy and Natsu's attention. They turned around seeing the fog engulfing their friends.

"Natsu! Happy! We gotta go help them!" Lucy yelled running toward the fog. Natsu followed not wanting her to get hurt. Soon they were both in the fog searching for Gray and Erza but all they saw was a dull red. Natsu and Happy screamed at the pain the radiation-fog gave them, But for some reason Lucy's skin didn't burn.

"Gray! Erza!" Lucy exclaimed finding them they were in and out of consciousness.

"Natsu and Happy! Get Gray out of here I'll get Erza!" Happy flew to Gray despite the pain and picked him up Natsu hung onto Grays foot an they flew out at max-speed.

"E-Erza hold on.. Were gonna get you out of here!" Lucy said picking her up but then she looked down at her feet that were shimmering away. "No! no! Not you too!" Lucy dropped to the ground and held Erza closely

Erza chuckled weakly grabbing Lucy's hand. "Lucy it's okay.. the great and mighty Titania has to die sometime right?"

Ezra's body was almost gone only the front of her remained. "Erza! No! c'mon! We can still save you just we gotta get up then we can stop Gray and Natsu from fighting.. and you can have more cake and we can gossip!" Lucy exclaimed sobbing holding Erza close to her chest.

"Lucy it's okay.. " Erza said "Keep the two dummies from fighting okay?" And with a those final words she faded away and Lucy screamed in agony. The radiation-fog still surrounding her but she was untouched. About 10 minutes later the fog cleared and she heard voices calling for her. But she didn't move, she didn't cry, she didn't feel anything just bland numbness.

Erza rubbed her arms and sat up. She looked to see she was on a couch. Two blurry faces staring down at her.

"Oi! Erza's awake!" One of the blurry faces said. Erza blinked a few times clearing her vision but her eyes widened when she saw

"Levy...Gajeel..." Erza whispered sitting up. "I-I thought you two were dead.. Wait i thought I was dead.. What's going on?"

Levy sprung at Erza wrapping her arms around her neck.

"Well let me explain.." Jesha said stepping up
