Lucy did this to try to stop thinking of the horrible fate too come for her two best friends. She still didn't tell them what was going to happen; They would freak out she was sure of it. Natsu's face was pale and Happy couldn't fly anymore. Lucy didn't let them use any magic power because it would only progress the sickness even more. The small group was trying to find somewhere to settle down, Natsu's strength was diminished probably because he was getting worse and he complained a lot. Yet Lucy loves to hear him complain. Every sweet-childish word coming out of his mouth could be his last she wanted to soak in all of them as much as she could. Lucy had been crying the entire time but stayed ahead of Natsu and Happy so they wouldn't see. Whenever they did ask her questions she wiped them away, put on a fake smile and turned around.

How pitiful that you can hide so much emotion behind one smile.

"Natsu, Happy see any clearings? Or caves we can settle into? You guys need rest.." Lucy asks

"Ah, Luce you need rest too and I think we should go deeper into the forest we will probably find something there." Natsu replied

"Aye.." Happy said weakly

They continued walking deeper and deeper into the forest. Lucy could literally feel like abnormal heat off of Natsu. Without even touching him, she knew he was running a fever.

"Oi, Happy!" Natsu yelled

Lucy turned around to see Happy has collapsed.

This is progressing a lot faster than I guessed..

She spotted a small clearing and started walking to it. Natsu carried the unconscious Happy in his arms jogging to catch up with Lucy.

"We will make camp here" She said

"Luce, We should find a cave it's not safe we-"

"Natsu!"

Natsu shivered backing away slowly. He grabbed his sleeping bag and laid it down then set Happy on it. He looked up to the sky and murmured "Jeez Erza, Luce is rubbing off on you"

Erza smirked at the remark Natsu made. Everyone was closely watching the projection now. Ever since Happy collapsed they all stared at the screen closely taking in every detail.

"How long till Natsu and Happy end up here?" Gray asked.

Jesha took his finger and started writing imaginary calculations in the air. His eyebrows shot up and he turned to answer Gray's question

"Should be about around... at the latest 3am."

"That's an hour away.." Erza murmured

"I hope Lu-chan can make it through this one she has been so strong. But she loves Natsu even though she can't admit it" Levy said sadness in her tone.

"And Natsu may not want to fight off the sickness if Happy dies first. I know if Lily came with us and he died I would want to die with him." Gajeel added

Everyone nodded staring at the screen the sadness in the room making everyone's head pound.

Lucy's pov

Happy and Natsu aren't getting any better. Happy hasn't woken up since he became unconscious and it made Natsu worry. Happy was tossing and turning sweat streaming off his fur. I was terrified, If Happy was too die that would take a major toll on Natsu it would make his sickness progress even faster.. But if Natsu died first.. Happy would certainly die maybe instantly from pain. Yes the saying is true, You can die from a broken heart.

Natsu laid down next to Happy talking to him about how they were gonna make him better and they were gonna find a way off this island. I smiled their bond with each other is what kept them alive but

It's also what could kill them.

Natsu suddenly tried to sit up but fell back to his butt.

"Natsu! Don't sit up you need to rest!" I exclaim.

"So do you! I'm not sick or anything! I was thinking I could get Happy some water.." Natsu muttered crossing his arms then laying back down.

"Natsu-" I shouldn't tell him he's sick I can't.. I just.. I can't.

"-Natsu just try to get some sleep it's getting late. I'll get some water for Happy."

I start walking toward the stream I saw when coming here. I keep stepping through spider webs which is really creepy me out. I squeal as one hits my face. Okay maybe I should go in a different route-

"LUCY!"

That's Natsu's voice.. What's going on it can't be happening already right?

"LUCY HURRY!"

I run and run toward the clearing we made camp at. Natsu is holding Happy closely but Happys legs are shimmering away.

"Oh no.." I whisper and put my hand over my mouth. I drop to my knees and stare at Happy. He's awake I guess that's deaths final present. We get to say goodbye to him.

"H-Happy? Buddy don't go!" Natsu yells the tears are shed for the millionth time. He starts coughing again but some blood comes out.

"Natsu calm down.. Your working yourself up to much!" I exclaim, worried about his health.

"I don't give a damn if I'm working myself up to much! Happys dying he's fading away! Happy don't go!"

Happy starts crying now his back now shimmering into the sky "N-Natzu I don't wanna die I wanna go on more adventures with you and Lu-shee!"

This makes Natsu cry even more and it makes me start to sob I gently rub his head attempting to calm him.

"Happy we can go on more adventures just- You gotta stay with us Please!" Natsu says his voice shaking.

"Natzu I think it's time to go" Happy said smiling. Natsu hugged him closer to his chest not wanting to let him go but death takes him away. The shimmering light on Happys body has taken him to the heavens and is going to take Natsu soon.

Why does fate have to be so cruel?

Natsu punches the ground repeatedly. "Shit!" He yells then falls over clenching his head. "Luce, I'm dying to aren't I ? I'm sick just like Gray and Happy?"

I don't know what to say. I don't think I can talk my voice seems like one word could break everything. I nod my head and sniffle. He punches the ground again then looks up at me.

"Luce, I'm gonna miss you.." Natsu says he grabs the dagger out of my bag. I found it when we first came on the island and decided to keep it "But everyone's gone..." He points it too his chest "And I'm gonna die anyway.. So this will make the process much faster, I don't want you too see me suffer."

I feel frozen to my spot. I guess Happy's death finally broke him. He is about to kill himself

"n-no Natsu.. Please don't" I say slowly approaching him but he ignites his fist and points it at me.

"Natsu!"

"I'm sorry Luce.." He pressured the dagger and it digs into his skin. Then he takes it out and falls backward.
