If I had a star for everytime you brightened my day, I would be holding a galaxy.

If Jimin was being honest with himself, he would admit that he fell in love with Taehyung long before either of them turned eighteen. Eighth grade end of the school year field trip to be exact. Their class had gone to a planetarium, and Taehyung was wearing a red sweater underneath black overalls topped with a red beanie and large, dorky glasses. Jimin had thought that he looked adorable, but he may have been the only one.
The planetarium trip is where Taehyung earned the nickname "alien," a group of boys, (lead by Jungkook of course), teased that Taehyung was finally where he belonged. The weird ass kid they all enjoyed to pick on had finally found his home; right among the projected stars in the blackened room. It wasn't long until their whispers reached Taehyung's ears, but he didn't appear phased.
"Are you okay?" Jimin had asked tenderly, glaring at the other kids as they passed by and snickered.
Taehyung shrugged in response, "If being different from them means that I'm an alien, then so be it." He grabbed Jimin's hands, "Let's run away to Mars together."
Jimin laughed, "I don't think we'd survive very long."
"Of course we would!" Taehyung had proceeded to wrap an arm loosely around his best friend, "You have me, and apparently I'm an alien. I could show you around my hometown."
"Okay," Jimin had playfully agreed, "but only my alien, nobody else deserves you."
And as Taehyung and him laid side by side, hands intertwined, while looking up at the projected planets, Jimin knew that he had fallen in love.
"I'd go anywhere with you," he had whispered to Taehyung in the dark, who squeezed his hand in response.
"Solarmates," Taehyung had whispered back with a giggle.
Now, Jimin was faced with a cold dose of reality as he stared numbly across the room at his date, who was a few champagne glasses in and laughing at something the very person he used to hate had just said.
Jimin felt anger bubble up inside of him, had Taehyung forgotten everything that the younger is capable of!? He reached across the bar and downed another shot, determined to not let it bother him. After all, he was Taehyung's soulmate, not Jungkook, he's known that since they were young, never needing a name on his wrist to tell him so.
A slender figure slipped beside him, grabbed a shot, and quickly downed it. Jimin barely spared Ji a glance as he kept his eyes fixated on the love of his life. Ji threw her head back as she swallowed another shallow glass of the bitter liquid, before following Jimin's stare curiously.
"You never really do know how much you love someone until you watch them fall in love with someone else," she stated, twirling the empty shot glass in her fingertips. It looked expensive.
