"Read Loudly" Ethan was handed over a note from the Guard.

"The dog opposite to your cells gave birth to the puppies that each of your cells has. Take care of them like you want yourself to be treated as here. The mother must feel comfortable that they are in safe and caring hands. Just like you did in your camp."

There was a shock in everyone's eyes. The last sentence brought shivers down their spine. Nobody wanted to go through the same thing again. Thinking about those horrific moments, almost brought tears to their eyes. But, they were taught how to restrain it.

Cassini's pup jumped at her. She caught it mid-air with gentle but firm hands. The pup started screaming at her. She started petting the excited pup.

"Shhh shhh quiet quiet" She brought the pup closer to her. She very well knew what she might have to do next and the lie she was conveying to the pup. She was looking straight to the scared eyes of the young life separated from his home by force. Eyes are known to be the window to the soul of the person. She brought the pup right in front of her face and he was suddenly silent. He closed his eyes and tears started to roll down from his eyes. Cassini brought the pup closer to herself and hugged and held him tightly.

As soon as Ethan caught his pup, it frantically started to free himself from the captors clutches. He wasn't screaming but restlessly trying to go back to his mother. He was only glancing at Ethan from the side of his eyes. Scared but determined to go back. Ethan covered his eyes from one hand. It stopped fighting Ethan. He had no other option and the only thing he was longing for, was now dark.

Alvis and Andrea had also caught their pup and covered their eyes. The age-old technique to calm someone down before their inevitable future. The only thing they couldn't subdue were their mother's screams.

But, Favians' pup was in no mood to get caught. Running jumping barking in total hysteria. Having bit Favian a couple of times. This pup was not a normal game. Favian getting exhausted, this was a first in his lifetime. Even if he gets tired physically he always finds some energy to fight back. But, not this time. He was drained mentally physically and emotionally and he sat down resting along the bars giving up on that pup. Surprisingly, the pup also sat down at the opposite end of the cell.

Was the pup taunting him?

Favian moved a bit forward

The pup did too!

Favian slowly started crawling towards the pup.

The pup did the same

They both met in the middle. Staring at each other's eyes.

Favian stood up

Pup didn't budge neither did he lose eye contact.

Favian, exhausted sat down. He brought his handclose to the pup. Pup lifted his front paw. And their palms touched.
