The group had finally reached the top, with the help of Callum's Ventus spiralis, his new spell that helped them breathe thin air. As soon as they got up there, there was quick introductions to Ibis, the lone sky mage protecting the queen, a failed attempt to get Zym to meet his mother, and then it was passing out.
Everyone had looked for separate beds, but Rayla and Y/N had ended up on the same one, snoring away. The princes did the same, piling on top of each other with Zym and Bait sprawled on top. According to Ibis, it was 17 hours later before they woke up.
Y/N was still groggy when she got up, and Rayla's didn't even move when Y/N shoved her off of her to get up. She got to change out of the torn up and muddy human clothes she had gotten about a week before, bathe, and get into a new outfit, which she got to choose from a dresser Ibis pointed out to her.
There were all kinds of clothes to choose from, even a Moonshadow elf assassin uniform, which she reach for, until something else caught her eye. A glint of silver light, it was there for an instant, then gone, and she grabbed the piece of clothing she had seen it come from.
There was a tighter uniform, like the assassin one, but it was black, lined with beautiful sea greens and blues, white dots like bubbles running up the sides. There was a long, flowing piece connected to it. It was a long, wrapping scarf, glittering, but only at random times, reminding Y/N of the surface of the ocean.
"Looks good on you." Y/N had quickly put in on, and jumped at the sound of Rayla's voice. She spun around, and the scarf silently flowed around her feet, making her almost trip.
"Any idea how this scarf is supposed to look? At least this thing has open shoulders, I don't have to cut holes for my wings." Y/N tried looking behind her, where the scarf connected to the thin fabric against her neck. Rayla walked forward, bringing it around her neck and draping it across the base of her wings.
"It's like it was meant for you, looks fantastic over your wings like that. I don't think it'll get in the way of flying, either." She smiled as Y/N turned towards the oversized mirror. It was comfortable, and reminded her of her old uniform, while the scarf... Wow... It really did complement the silver of her wings.
"Cool. You want to choose something? Complementary of Ibis, and the dragon queen." Y/N did a mock bow towards her friend, elegantly gesturing towards the dresser.
"This'll do." Rayla pulled out the assassin outfit, basically the same one she was wearing, but not beat up and destroyed.
"C'mon. The same thing? You have access to a royal dresser and you pick something we have lots of at home?" Y/N brought out a moonshadow elf outfit, and frowned at it. "At the same time, a lot of these aren't great for fighting in. Maybe you're right."
"Yeah, plus, I think the uniform suits me." Rayla smiled and changed into the new one. She does look a lot better in that than I did.
"Alright, sounds good." Y/N said with a shrug, turning towards the door and walking out. She stood on one of the balconies, watching the sea of clouds below. The sheer height of the spire was amazing, and she couldn't help but lean over the rail more as she scanned the sky below for Dorian. He had been gone for two days now. He'll be okay, right?
She opened her small bag, grabbing a blank parchment paper, leaning against the railing and staring at it. If he does come back soon, will I really have the guts to write Søren back? Now that she's actually had time to think, it was a little much. I'm not hiding. I'll have to fight him... She sighed, stuffing the paper back in her bag and bringing out his letter.
