"Rayla? Rayla!" Y/N burst outside, looking around. The fighting sounded like it was coming from one of the courtyards, and she ran down one of the paths towards it. She turned a corner, and almost ran smack into Claudia.

"Claudia, Hey!" Y/N said with a smile, taking a defensive stance as Claudia pulled out several vials. "Hey, uh, lets talk about this first." Rayla is still in trouble. Her eyes widened when she thought of something. Is Viren here?  All dark magic smelled the same, and it amplified as Claudia crushed a bug, her eyes glowing.

"Okay, we don't do that!" Y/N stepped back, dodging as two pieces of the pavement rose up, flying towards her. She turned back towards Claudia only to be hit in the back from the stone turning around. She face planted, and immediately heard the hissing of snakes.

The chains? She thought, in a panic, but when she leapt up and away, they weren't chains. Strange colors of liquid dripped from stone fangs as three pavement vipers hissed, slithering towards her. I have to get Claudia's bag away from her.

"Dad said to take you in alive if possible, but fail to cooperate, and that can change. Fast. Give us the princes." Claudia said, directing the snakes slowly forward, her eyes still glowing.

"Doesn't sound like you should be asking me. The princes can decide whether or not they wanna go back or not." Y/N spoke in a joking tone, but there was no smile. She watched the snakes carefully, noticing the difference in each one. I think only one has poison that will kill me...

A snake lunged, hissing and flicking purple venom onto the ground. Y/N dodged, moving back to get closer to Rayla, but then the other two came for her. She yelled, jumping onto the branch of the nearest tree, hooking her knees around the branch and swiping at them to try cutting them in half.

Her dagger took a large chunk out of one's back, but it didn't seem phased, hissing and rising up to try striking at her arms. She pulled herself up, jumping down on the other side and running towards where she guessed Rayla was, calling her name.

"Get back here!" More stones rose into the air as Claudia chased Y/N, making her have to tuck and roll to avoid most of them, careful to watch their trajectory as they came back around, still dodging snakes and taking chunks out of their backs, exposing the glowing colors inside. Is the green one the poison that will kill me?

Y/N backflipped over the rocks as they came at her again, slashing at the snakes and destroying the one with black essence inside it, but Claudia conjured two knives, both flying at her as she dodged the flying rocks' third barrage. She blocked the knives, but it was becoming too much. It took all her concentration to watch everything at once.

"I keep telling people, 'sweep the leg' is not a thing in sword fighting!" Y/N tried not to turn around, trying to place why that voice sounded so familiar while still keeping her eyes on Claudia and all her snakes and projectiles.

"Oh, any more sword fightin' lessons? I'm eager to learn." The sound of Rayla's voice sent a jolt of relief through her, and she leapt towards Claudia, slicing her satchel from her side and throwing it up onto the branch of a nearby tree.

She came back down, destroying the green-tinted snake with one last blow and jumping over the flying rocks. Claudia had one more thing in her hand, something green.

"Søren!" she called out. Y/N looked over to see Rayla looking back, distracted, letting Søren jump up and run into her, throwing her into a rather large puddle of mud.
