Chapter 17: The maze.

"Rosie!" Was one of the first things she heard as she walked into the champions set up, where the crowd was set up facing the maze.

She turned around hastily and found herself in Kathy's arms.

"Sorry!" Kathy apologised as she pulled back, she then wrapped a Ravenclaw scarf and wrapped it around the girl. "I knitted this for you, I just hope you're all safe..."

"Don't worry,I'm going to make sure everyone makes it out alive" Rosie promised Kathy, gaining a suspicious look from the smaller witch.

"A-alright, good luck" Kathy gave her a quick grin before running up the stands.

Rosie let out a shaky breathe before turning to where the rest of the champions were, she gave Cedric and Harry a reassuring smile, which they meekly gave back.

"Earlier today Professor Moody placedthe tri-wizards cup deep within themaze. Only he knows its exact position." Rosie gifted Mad eye moody a side glare "Now as Mr Diggory..."

Cheers interrupted him and the hufflepuff's cheered.

McGonagal gave Rosie's shoulder a reassuring squeeze a gentle smile before letting go.

"Rosie,  and Mr Potter tied for first
position they will be the first to enter
the maze." And there were some more cheers, "Followed by Mr Krum..."

Of course his school cheered louder with their booming and deep voices.

"The first person to touch
the cup will be the winner. I've instructed
the staff to patrol the perimeter, if
at any point should a contestant wish
to withdraw from the task he or she
need only send up red sparks with their
wands." Dumbledore then turned to the students, "Contestants, gather round."

They all huddled up to hear Dumbledore's words and the professor gave Rosie a subtle look.

"In the maze you'll find not dragons or creatures of the deep. Instead you'll face something more challenging. You see, people change in the maze." He explained as he glanced around at the, "Oh find the cup if you
can, but be very weary you could just
lose yourselves along the way."

"Champions! Prepare yourself's!" Mad Eye moody called out and the first three stood up to where their flag's were set.

"On the country of three, one..."

Dumbledore's interrupted by the cannon already going off and Rosie glances back at her friends and smiles lightly before pushing herself to go inside the maze.

The walls close behind her and she lets out a small breathe, one that she had no idea she was holding.

The maze would soon change positions so she ran, bit to find the cup and win, but to find the other Hogwarts champions.

She heard a loud scream before a red flare shot up in the sky, Fleur was out by Krum.

Obviously, she knew that Krum was under a curse done by Mad eye Moody's imposter.

So, she had to avoid him.

She ran quickly as she felt vines trying to grab her ankles and pull her to the ground.

"Bombarda!" She yelled and blasted the vines, causing dirt to fly around and for it to smear on her face.

She reminded herself to worry about it later when she had finished her own personal task.

Two voices interrupted her thoughts and she turned to where Cedric had pulled hardy away from Krum.

"Petrificus totalus!" She helped out and Krum fell down to the floor stiffly.

Cedric and Harry looked up to her in astonishment.

"The maze changed him" she retorted, "Cedric, you cant get to the cup and neither can you Harry its a trap"

"You're only saying that because you want it for yourself" Cedric states before turning around and walking, Harry running after him.

She huffed before running after them, only to realise the walls were closing in on the three of them.

"RUN!" She exclaimed and they didn't waste a second to do as she told them, she avoided the vibes as she ran but soon Cedric was caught and Harry was looking down at him.

He was having second thoughts, he could have the cup all to himself.

"The maze changes you" Rosie reminded him, he snapped out of his gaze and shot a spell at the vines Cedric was struggling under.

"You know for a moment there I thought you were gonna let it get me." Cedric breathed out as he walked to them.

"For a moment there, so did I" Harry stated, obviously feeling ashamed that he almost did.

"Some game, huh?" Cedric joked, Rosie rolled her eyes.

"Some game" Harry nodded in agreement.

The wind started blowing again and they all glanced over to the cup.

"It's a trap!" Rosie tried to stop them.

"Go on, take it. You saved me, take it" Cedric tried to make Harry take the cup for himself.

"Guys—"

"Together" Harry offered to them both, Rosie agreed.

She had to at least try and stop them, even if it meant going their with them.

"One...two...three!"

They all gripped onto the cup and Rosie's stomach did a few flips before they slammed to the ground of the graveyard Rosie hated to witness.

In her visions and real life.

Cedric leant down to observe the cup, Rosie gripped his arm and tugged him away from it so they could hide behind the pillar.

He gave her a questioning look before they heard flames ignite.

Harry hisses as he holds his head in pain, a figure walks out into the open and cedric's eyes widen at the view.
