Chapter 9: The Horse Creatures
Rosie walked along the dirt road with a small smile on her face and she was linking arms with a chatting Ginny, who was going on and on about quidditch.
They pulled to a stop as they waited for the next carriage.
"What are those things?" Harry Potter questioned as he walked up to the carriages, with the rest of the trio and Neville Longbottom. "Pulling the carriages"
"What are you talking about, there's nothing there" Hermione tuts as she shakes her head at the boy, causing Rosie to turn around to them and make her way towards the carriage.
"They're called thestarals" Rosie announces as they all take their turns to jump into a seat, Ginny going after Hermione before Rosie follows.
"Thestrals?" Hermione repeats, and then begins to ponder about them and if there would be a book with a perfectly good explanation.
"Thestrals" Rosie repeated, and then looked down at her hands that were fiddling with each other.
"You're not going mad" a dreamy voice said, and Ron jumped out of his skin before turning to see the girl sat opposite Rosie. "I can see them too, your just as sane as I am"
"Everyone this is loony-" Hermione starts and cuts herself off in embarrassment, looking down slightly. "Luna Lovegood"
"That's a pretty necklace" Ginny spike up, smiling at the Ravenclaw whom she had seen in a few classes.
"It's a charm actually" Luna spoke again, she then leaned forward and spoke slightly lower. "It keeps away the nargles"
Neville shifted in his seat uncomfortably as he gripped his plant, as Ron shares a look with Harry in confusion.
Ginny turned to Rosie in curiosity and mouthed 'thestrals?' causing Rosie to gesture for her to explain later.
"So, anyone heard about the twins products?" Ron spoke up excitedly and Hermione sent him a stern look, causing him to gulp and sit backwards.
"I have" Ginny chimed up, "suppose a lot of students will be using them to get them out of class"
Ron smiles again, "I know, you should see the this one—"
Hermione huffs and whacks him with her bag, causing Harry to shuffle a laugh. "Ronald, we're prefects, if we see one of those products we must get rid of them. Furthermore, you should not condone in supporting their ideas"
"Geez Hermione" Ron said gruffly as he shifted slightly in his seat next to Harry, who smirked slightly as he held back his chuckle. "Well, I bet Rosie will support the ideas"
"What?" Rosie blurted out as she glanced between the other kids on the carriage in confusion, she had no idea what Ron was going on about.
"Ya know" Ron stated as though it was obvious, he glanced between Harry and Hermione, who also seemed as though they hadn't the slightest of ideas. "Because she's dating George"
Rosie blushes as the other kids turned to look at her to see if it was true, but she shook her head quickly to dismiss the idea. "We're not dating"
"Oh" Ron gulped again and decided to look downwards instead since he made the conversation more awkward.
"Not yet" Ginny spoke you again, smirking over to Rosie, who slapped her arm in response. "Rosie doesn't think that George likes her very much, but considering they hug and have kissed and they were dates to Yule ball, I'd say that they like each other equally"
Rosie scoffed slightly, before she sent Ginny an embarrassed look, after all it was a best friends secret conversation and she was letting out all the secrets she had shared.
"Well, Ginny used to steal her brothers broomsticks at night time so she could practice, and once accidentally broke Ron's" Rosie shared with the group, and Ron grumbled something under his breath.
"That was you, I was trying to teach you to play!" Ginny argued back, and Rosie cracked a small smile before Ginny joined in.
