“Hurry up your lazy ass!!” Ahaan shouted at the top of his lungs. This only irritated Samara furthermore.
It was 8:30 am in the morning when Ahaan’s ranting session had officially begun. As decided earlier, it was their beach day and he wanted to hit the shore as soon as possible. After the previous night’s episode, she didn’t want to be anywhere near her mother. Waking up was a difficult job for her, especially when she felt so emotionally drained but she had to put on a mask again. The cold indifferent mask.
She didn’t want to miss her beach day and spoil all the fun. And Ahaan really wanted to go, she couldn’t disappoint her little brother after all.
“Uhh…just 5 mins!!” Samara shouted back from her room, as she applied sunscreen to her arms.
Her parents had gone to explore the markets around and she couldn’t be more grateful. They were never really present most of the time anyway. She picked a short black swim suit to wear. It was backless and had slits along the midriff. It showed off a little more than her taste, but that never stopped her before, so why now? She was here to let loose and she would. She checked herself one last time in the mirror, pulled on her thin translucent swimming coat, let her wavy dark hair loose on her shoulders, locked her room and joined her brother in the living room.
“Ah! Your highness finally decides to grace me with her presence. I’m sure we will reach the beach by tomorrow morning.” Ahaan exclaimed, rolling his eyes.
“Don’t be such an ass now. It was just 5 mins.” She replied nonchalantly, waving off her hand at him.
“Now let’s get going before we actually get late!” She added giving her brother no chance to continue the banter further as she pulled his arm leading him outside their resort room.

The warmth of the sun quickly spread all over her body as they walked down the pathway to the shore. It was a beautiful scene around her to look at, but her eyes were searching for someone else. She knew there was no chance that she and that stranger- Vivaan, would meet again but she could only hope. But since when did she start hoping in life? But still, Vivaan was the first thing on her mind this morning when she had woken up. There was something about him. Something different.
She shook her head and put all those thoughts behind as she realised that they had reached the shore. As soon as they stepped onto the warm sand, they took in their surroundings. The beach was full of people, mostly tourists. Loud music filled the air, lessening the sound of the waves. People were drinking, laughing, doing various water sports and enjoying themselves. The energy was infectious and the atmosphere was genuine and happy. Before she could take it all in, she found herself being dragged forward towards the water by her brother.
