Deep blue eyes stared right through her soul. His smile, his scent, his eyes. Everything about him was breath-taking. She smiled at him as he extended his hand towards her. As soon as she took it, he pulled her close. He rested his forehead against her, and they were just about to kiss...

And a shrill tone ringing from her phone woke her up, from the most beautiful dream she had ever seen. She groaned as she pulled the covers above her head, but the phone wouldn't stop ringing. Finally giving up, she picked her phone from the nightstand. She answered it without seeing the caller id.
"Who the hell is this?" Samara barked into the phone. Her sleep was precious to her.
"SAMARA KAPOOR! You don't know ME? The one and only person who's been tolerating you since 6th STD? God, I'm wounded" A female voice mocked at her on the other end.
Her eyes flew open and her face broke into a big smile. She could never forget this voice. She quickly threw off the covers and sat up.
"Navya! Seriously. You really need to get your timings right. I was sleeping. In fact, dreaming..." Samara replied, in a daze.
"Well, I'm your best friend so timings are not really applicable to me, are they?" Navya replied in a smug voice.
Of course, it was her best friend. Nobody else had the courage to call her this early in the morning.
"Yeah right" Samara scoffed.
"So, tell me, what's with the morning invasion?" She added. She knew her best friend knew no bounds.
"Just confirming about your return to Bombay. I mean, you're coming back right? It's been so many days and who knows you might find a hot guy there and just run off with him" Navya replied in a dramatic tone. Samara couldn't help but chuckle.
"You can be right about the first part. And a big NO for the second. You know I'm not one of those commitment types" Samara said nonchalantly and earned a loud scream from her best friend.
"You bitch! You met a guy and I have no idea about it? TELL ME EVERYTHING!!!" Navya screeched.
Samara spent the next half an hour filling in Navya about everything in detail.
"Wow. Someone finally managed to sweep you off your feet! He must really be one of a kind. I really need to see this dude. Is he hot? You have a picture?" Navya asked excitedly.
"Umm...no. I don't" Samara said, a weird feeling settled in her stomach.
"Oh, it's alright. Take one the next time you see him" Navya suggested.
"Yeah" Samara replied, absent minded.
"We all miss you babe; It's been boring without you here. But I'm glad that you'll be back in 3 days. We've planned so many things, we'll go to the Lake house and..." Navya went on but after that sentence Samara wasn't listening anymore. She had frozen up.
"Babe...you there?" Navya asked when Samara didn't reply.
"Yeah...I'm there. Listen hon. I'll call you in the afternoon. I really need to get ready for breakfast right now. You know how my parents get" She made an excuse.
"Sure thing babe. I'll text you later" Navya said and with that Samara hung up.
Navya and Samara had been best friends from 6th STD. They practically grew up together, more like sisters. They could read each other like an open book. Navya could sense that something was up with her but she let it slide.
On the other hand, realisation hit Samara like a bolt of lightning. She was supposed to go back to Bombay the day after tomorrow. She had been so oblivious and so lost in Vivaan all this time that she hadn't even realised that she'd be leaving him behind forever. Why hadn't she thought of it earlier? This was what she had feared. Getting attached to someone. She never wanted that, but it still happened.
Sure, she'd had so many temporary flings in the past and they had never affected her. Moving on was a piece of cake for her. And it wasn't like she and Vivaan were officially dating or anything. Then why was the thought of leaving him hurting her so much? She wanted to desperately deny it but she knew there was no use lying to herself. It was because she had feelings for Vivaan and she was realising that only now. And it terrified her.
