"Look who's talking. How many times have we saved you? Four? Five?"

I scowled at my friends-my family- and jerked my head at Quinn. "Quinn, meet my friends. The short one is Xander," Xander nodded and bowed at the waist, slightly scowling and glaring at me with his blue eyes. He wore his hair how he always did, brown hair pulled into a messy bun and wore his usual stealth gear. Xander was born in America, like me. "A pleasure." Quinn smiled weakly and said, "Hello."

I looked to Vi in the middle. "This is Violet but we call her 'Vi'" Violet strutted right to Quinn and gave her famous bear hug. Quinn released a wheezy laugh and squeezed her back. "Nice to meet you." Vi sighed and released her, backing up a step or two. She had her long silver hair tied into a ponytail that perfectly shaped her high cheekbones and small black hole eyes. She was beautiful and such a cunning person. She was born in North Korea and missed it terribly. Yet she always stayed here, fighting for a cause-for a girl- that would change our world forever. I always admired her for it.

And finally, my last best friend. "This is Andre. He's quiet but don't be fooled, he's the strongest person I've ever met. A awesome guy, too." He had beautiful chocolate brown skin, black eyes and wore a layered fighting suit of the same color. Born and raised in America, as well. He was freaking stunning. I winked at him and he gave a small smile before gently taking Quinn's hand and brushing a quick kiss to her knuckles. "It's nice to meet you, Quinna." Quinn blushed. I don't know why, but I clenched my fist and ground my teeth together. He was still holding her hand so I took the liberty of wrapping my arm around her waist and pulling her into my side. "We should get moving. I assume you have a ride for us all?"

Vi coughed and Xander pointed to a white van about 30 feet away, pulled to the side of the deserted road. Andre was staring at Quinn and she wouldn't meet his eyes. I don't like this at all. "Hey," I turned Quinn to look at me while the others collected theirselves and started to walk to the car. "It's gonna be alright now. I promise. All your burning questions in that head of yours will be answered soon," I flicked her nose and she laughed, swatting my hand away.

Theres that beautiful laugh. "Everything will work out." I sighed, brushing the hair from her face and tucking it behind her ear.  She shuddered beneath my touch so I pulled my hand away slowly, plastering a positive smile onto my face. "Now, shall we be on the road again, M'lady?" I lifted my arm and opened it up, showing her the way. She giggled, fake picking up her imaginary skirts and walking towards the van.

I watched her walk away, running a hand through my hair.

It's time she learns the truth. Either he tells her...

Or I will.

"Jamie! Where are you, you coward!?" Bonnie yelled across the house, searching each and every room for her psychotic boyfriend. He had put something in her baby. He took her from the hospital a day after she was born. While Bonnie was in the other room, just having named her daughter and resting after bringing life into the world. But it was cut short when the nurses came busting in saying that her baby's daddy had took and jammed a needle into her. He injected her with one of his horrid expeirments. If she even looses a hair off her head, Bonnie would kill him.

"Jamie!!!" Bonnie reached the basement door and the knob wouldn't turn. She jangled the knob, hoping it would magically open and lead her to Jamie's lab where she thought he was researching for his work. Whatever he was doing down there...it wasn't good. She knew that much. "JAMIE-"

The door clicked open. Bonnie held her breath as she opened the door wide. "Jamie, I swear to god..." She inhaled deeply then sprinted down the steps into the basement. When she reached the bottom and rounded the corner, she saw Jamie in a rocking chair, holding her baby. He had equipment everywhere. A crib with all sorts of wires and a IV bag hanging above it. A heart monitor was nearby, turned off and all sorts of bottles were filled with mysterious looking liquids. Scientific equipment was scattered all around the room, covering the tables and shelves. A empty needle sat next
to the crib. A fire pit sat in the middle, still blazing.

"What in the world did you do?" Bonnie breathed, scanning the room, not quite believing what she saw. Jamie just rocked back and forth holding the baby girl who cooed in his arms. "This is for the best, Bon. She needed to be able to protect herself..." He whispered, caressing the baby's cheek with his knuckles. Bonnie stormed to Jamie, ripping her child from Jamie's arms and knocking him to the ground. "You're insane! You need help, Jamie." She screamed, startling her child into crying. She wailed as Bonnie hushed her, rocking her gently in her arms.

Jamie got to his feet. "Please, Bonnie, you must understand. I did it for her." He tried reaching for his family but Bonnie threw a right hook into his face, snapping his face to the side and returning him to the ground all while she had a swaddled baby in her arms. He groaned on the floor, spitting blood.

Bonnie just walked away with her baby safe in her arms, heading for the hospital again. She needs her baby to be checked out, for all she knows he could have injected her with poison.

"Please, Bonnie! She needs me to teach her to use it, otherwise it will kill her!" He's just blabbing now, Bonnie thought, still walking away. "We are done Jamie. I never want to see you or speak to you again. If you ever try to find or hurt my daughter again," Bonnie breathed, reaching the corner to the stairs before slowly turning to look at Jamie over her shoulder.

"I. will. kill. you." She hissed.

And then they were gone.

Jamie grimaced and got to his feet. He wiped his lip as he reached the "IV' bag over his baby's crib. It was empty. Good, he thought, glancing back to the bed. He picked up the blanket he had used to tuck in his child and brought it to his nose, inhaling deeply. Peaches and honeysuckles. Such a beautiful scent.

He lowered it back down and rubbed his thumbs on the soft fabric. "Oh, my baby. Sweet girl," He crooned, turning to look at the empty needle he had used to inject his daughter.

"This world is not ready for you. You will be the first of many, the strongest of all. You have been given a gift," He smiled and turned toward the blazing fire. Jamie tossed the blanket into the scarlet flames, watching it catch fire and burn. His eyes reflected the flames and it looked like his very soul was on fire.

"Quinn, my daughter, you will save us all."
