Tonight is one of the nights i get to go out and socialise...at work of course.

Tonight was my late shift at the cafè. Youd be surprised how many people crave a hot chocolate and waffles after a night out.

As me and kristen pulled into the druveway and got out the car, i remanissed about the day id just had. And it was yet to be over.

Unlocking the door, i looked to the side of the house and noticed the flowers in the hanging baskets needed watering as it hadnt rained for over a week.

I picked up the watering can off the floor and walked over to the outside tap to fill it.

After id finished watering the flowers, getting splash back in the process, i walked into the house to the dryer and bent down to take my work clothes out of the tumble dryer.

I felt a light tap on my shoulder and i already knew what was coming.

I turned around to see Kristen stabding there with a huge grin on her face

I rolled my eyes

"Sooooo!!!! Dude! I know you were lying back there in the car. What happened? I saw the way you two looked at each other. Do you know each other or something?" Kristens voice was pretty high pitched and loud now

I put my index finger into my ear

"Right, for starters kristen, girl, im right here. Theres no need to shout" i laughed

"Secondly, nothing happened" i went on

"But you wanted it to" kristen winked to me

"Kristen! Hes a therapist! My therapist now actually! Now, he may be fiiiine as hell! But nothing i repeat! n o t h i n g...happened nor can it EVER happen between us"

"Ok jheeze, i was only asking"

"Ive got to go and get ready for work now. PEACE!" I threw her the peace sign from half way over the bannister and ran up to my room to get ready.

Looking in the mirror making sure my work clothes looked ok and my apron was on straight ready to leave the house, i grabbed a scrunchie and put my hair up into a high pony tail i knew it was about to be a late night the last thing i needed was my hair dipping in everything tonight.

I sighed and nodded to myself.

"Ready" i took a breath and headed for the stairs.

When i got to the bottom of the stairs i called in to kristen

"Boo im taking my car, ill be bsck late so dont wait up! Love ya!"

A few moments later i heard kristen shout back

"Ok, stay safe love you!"

I grabbed my bag off the stand next to the front door and searched for my keys. Once i found them i walked out the door and shut it behind me, locking it.

Getting into my car, i adjusted the mirrors and seat as kristen was taller than me so had moved them after being in my car today

I made sure i was good to go, put my seatbelt on. Lets go.

As i parked up next to the pavement outside the cafè i looked at the clock. It was 8:54pm. I grabbed my bag and got out of the car, making sure to lock it.

Walking through the cafe doors, i was greeted by sarah, who was carrying 3 plates of food

"Hey sarah, boy its busy in here, rushed off your feet already?" I ask, grabbing a plate and following her

"Yeah, i was going to call to ask you to come in earlier but i know you had an appointment today"

I smile, being reminded of todays events

"Yeah, how did you know" i frown, confused. I know i didnt tell anybody

"Kristen"

"Of course" i say, putting the plate down at the table sarah had stopped at.

I brush her shoulder and tell her im going to put my bag into the back room.

Adjusting my apron, i walk out of the back room into the cafe floor and behind the counter. It is really busy

"Hiya may i help you" i put on my 'work voice'

"Yes please can i get a toffee latee please"

"Will that be to take away or enjoy in?"

"Taking away please" the woman hands me the money and i hand her the change

"Heres your latee, enjoy your night"

"Thank you you too"

I service with a smile.

*3 hours later*

"How long is my omelette going to be im starving?!" I have some man shouting in my face

"Sir, please respect that we are very busy. Its 11:15pm please be patient your omelette will be ready in a few minutes...next!" I call out amongst all the late night punters that are coming in on their way to go home. Some drunk and rowdy, some not.

I can never get my head around how busy a cafe that serves tea and crepes can get on a saturday night. And each weekend i regret taking on the late shift.

"Please, stop pushing. Sir, heres your omolette. Napkins are here at the side of you. Enjoy"

"Wont be coming here again" i hear him say under his breath as he starts scoffing his food.

"Good, will be less busy" i whisper to myself. I am litterally rushed off my feet. People are pushing and shoving, things are being dropped and thrown. The place looks a mess. I cannot wait until closing time. Only 45 minutes to go.

15 minutes later, the place has quietened down a bit.

I tilt my head back back and take a second to let out a deep breath and close my eyes.

"Excuse me, miss?"

I open my eyes, i know that voice

I being my head forward to look in front of me.

Theres a man, dressed down in a white t shirt and blue overshirt, with buttons undone near the top down to just over a quarter of the way. His hair in a casual pony tail curls flowing as the wind moves them elegently across his face.

"When you get a second, dont rush! Please may i have a coffee...to sit in" he smirks as he puts his hands on the counter, sitting across to the right of me, tapping the counter with his fingers in a slow rhythm as he hums a sweet soft song.

I smile. Its Michael.
