I made my way to my desk and pulled out my third journal.

I flipped to the front. I have never used this journal before. Admiring the blank, un-touched pages I finally gather a black pen and begin to write.

Ford has told me he found a copy of his first journal outside of Bill's statue 4 years ago. However, unlike the original journal, this copy has none of the information regarding the weirdness and mythical creatures in Gravity Falls. Instead it leaves us with a cipher on the first page.

I believe this note to be left by Bill. It's rather obvious. What's shocking however is that Sixer hasn't been able to crack it. It seems to be a simple Vigenere cipher, with the body of the letter than double ciphered to A1Z26. I am now going to decipher it and find what truths it contains.

I quickly copy down the cipher and begin to decode it. It took me about 4 minutes total to get A1Z26 back into Vigenere. I frowned. I'm slow.

Shaking the thought off I continued to decipher it all back into normal english in my journal. Finally, I re-read the letter decoded:

Hiya Sixer! I just want to let you know, that I will be coming back. And next time you won't be able to stop me. You have a spy in your midst. You've had them and still have. And I just want to let you know Sixer, that when you find who the spy is you'll be shocked. When I win, and I will thanks to them, I'll let them do what they please with you and the rest of your family. Just think, this could've been you winning. But now you're replaced. And your replacement is better, smatter, hotter even. So... see you next time Fordsy. Remember, reality is an illusion, the universe is a hologram, buy gold BYEBill Cipher.

I felt my cheeks redden at the hotter aspect of the letter, but soon the blush faded away and I got angry.

"That Stupid Dorito!" I exclaimed to myself. "God forbid if Ford deciphered this.... my whole plan could've been ruined." My anger soon calmed down however, and I began to make a plan.

First, I did a quick sketch of the journal in my journal. Then I decided I needed to give it back to Ford. And he obviously can't know I deciphered it. Also, I need to keep this original journal. I don't know why but I have this... feeling about it. Something about it is mystical. This just means that I need to create a copy. But, I can't just hand make another journal. Although Ford is dumber than me now, he isn't stupid. No, I need to duplicate this journal.

Deciding on my course of action I go over to my drawer and pick out my first journal. The majority of my journals contain spells and potions, however my first journal is solely on these topics, while the second has different animals sprinkled in the mix.

I flicker through the pages until I land on the write potion. Scrolling through the ingredients, I quickly gather them out from under my bed. However, when I go for the gnomes eye I find I'm short.

Well shit.

I mean, it isn't that big of a deal. But it is a lot more work. I'll have to sneak out tonight. That means I can't give Sixer the journal till tomorrow.  Frustrated, I put the ingredients and books away, as I won't need them till later.

Although I figured out this mystery, I still need to know more about the statue. If the cracks really do mean that Bill is escaping, then he took his sweet fucking time. However, if it means he's dying, getting erased never to be seen again... than I have a huge fucking problem. Of course, I've been preparing to get Bill back since the day he left, so I have quite the resources and plan. However, I don't know when that piece of stone will come crashing down. And I don't want to find out. This means I need to act fast, faster than anticipated.

I sigh, running my hand through my hair. I know what I'm doing, I know what I'm doing. The mantra repeated over and over as I steadied my breathing. I just have to duplicate the journal, find what's so special about it, and then continue on with my regularly scheduled plan.

I continued to ponder and think until I heard Mabel calling me for dinner. I quickly exited my room, locking it behind me, and made my way to the kitchen where Stan cooked spaghetti. It didn't really look edible.... but neither did Mabel juice. Shrugging I started to eat.

"So Dipper?" Ford started in between spoon fulls of pasta. "Any luck with the cipher?" Instantly I put my charade up. I glanced down at the entree and fiddled with the fork, not really picking up any food. "S-sorry Grunkle Ford. I- I couldn't get it. I wish I could be of more help..." I sigh, sounding defeated. "It's okay. I mean, even I didn't get it, so I could hardly doubt you'd get it, especially only in a few hours." Fool, I thought to myself, it took me like 7 minutes tops. "But, you can continue to try tomorrow, if it'll make you feel better."

I internally laughed. He's just too easy to manipulate. "Really Grunkle Ford!" I said with fake enthusiasm, though they hardly could tell. "I'll try my best!" Sixer just nodded and smiled and we all returned to our meal. Mabel ended up babbling about her latest douchebag boyfriend and saying how they were so amazed by her saving the fall all those years ago. I just internally rolled my eyes and at the end of dinner put my plate in the sink before making my way to my room.

Now, time to go hunt some gnomes.
