They'd carried Katsuki back to the dorms and laid him down in his room. They decided to check on him in the morning, although many classmates opposed.
"He's still our classmate, and he's hurt. We should at least take care of him until he gets better."
"I second that, Asui." Tenya stands next Tsuyu, showing his support. "It would be unsportsmanlike if we did not help out a fellow classmate." A few others nodded.
"I don't see why we should help him. He's obviously hurt more than one person, not only physically but emotionally as well." Kyoka, leading the opposing group, still stood on the idea of practically ignoring Katsuki the rest of the year. The arguing continued through-out the rest of the day, dividing the class into 3 groups. The ones for, and the ones against helping Katsuki, along with the ones that didn't want anything to do with the matter. Kyoka had Denki, Minoru, Mezo, Mina, and Ochaco, while Tenya and Tsuyu had Hanta, Eijiro, Momo, and Mashirao. The remaining 5 classmates tried to calm the rest down, but failed miserably. Around 12 am, everything finally settled down, only Kyoka, and a few others were still up in the common room lounge.
"He still hasn't come back yet." Eijiro was sitting in the couch seat next to Hanta. Kyoka nodded.
"At least we can agree on something tonight." She stood up and folded her arms across her chest. "Alright. I'm going out to look for him. It isn't safe for him to be out this long. We all saw those burns on his arm when he left and I doubt recovery girl is back yet to heal them. Whose coming with me?" Eijiro stood up, Hanta followed suit.
"We're both in. I can't imagine how Todobroski is feeling right now." Kyoka stared at Eijiro.
"Please don't do that again. You already ruined Bakugo's name, don't ruin Todoroki's." Hanta elbowed him, followed by an "I told you so." Kyoka looked down at Tenya, Ochaco, and Toru.
"Are you guys coming or staying here?" Tenya looked at Ochaco, who was peacefully sleeping next to him.
"I'm sorry but I have to decline. Hagakure and I are going to get Uraraka to bed, and then head to bed ourselves." Kyoka nodded and looked over at the last person in the room.
"You coming Tokoyami?" Fumikage shook his head politely.
"I would if I could. But you know me when it comes to darkness. I wouldn't risk it after what happened at the training camp." Kyoka sighed and looked at Eijiro and Hanta.
"I guess I'm stuck with you two idiots. Be outside in 5 minutes, I won't wait." Kyoka walked off and everyone else began getting ready for bed besides Eijiro and Hanta, who still happened to be goofing off at 12 am in the morning.Kyoka was waiting outside by the steps to the dorms. Eijiro and Hanta stepped out.
"It's been 7 minute and 23 seconds. What took you guys so long?" They looked at each other and shrugged. "Ugh, you guys are impossible. Let's go already." They began walking towards the UA campus.
"Jeez Jiro, when did you get so serious about this? You've been off ever since your match with Midoryia." Hanta's words snuck their way into her line of thought and she stopped walking. She held her fist to her chest and looked down. They stopped and turned around. "Hey did I say something that upset y-"
"Don't. I've been meaning to bring this up. But I didn't have the courage to." Her eyes teared up and her vision blurred. "During my match with Midoryia, I was listening to him for any hints at what he'd be planning. But instead I got the truth." She tugged at her own ear cords and twisted them. "I heard what he said before he fell. It was awful." She fell onto her knees and threw her head into her hands.
"Jiro.. I had no idea you were keeping that bottled up inside. You could have told one of us." She shook her head and slowly stood back up.
"No, I was waiting for Todoroki to get back and explain the whole situation. But he didn't come back. And it kept getting darker outside. Eventually everyone retreated to their rooms. I couldn't get everyone's attention anymore. So I kept waiting. And now here we are, looking for the guy who should have been back hours ago." Eijiro gave her a side hug. And wiped away her tears.
"It'll be okay, we can tell everyone tomorrow. You won't have to do it. Sero and I can do it for you. Right Sero?" Hanta smiles and nods.
"We got you, we can do this together Jiro!"They'd been walking for 10 minutes when Aizawa stopped them.
"What are you 3 doing this late at night? Go back to the dorms." They all froze at the sound of Aizawa's voice.
"Mr. Aizawa you're back! How's Midoryia? Is he okay?" Eijiro completely ignored their sensei's question by asking another. Aizawa sighed. His shape was hard to make out in the dark, but you could tell his hair was pulled back and he had changed into something more comfortable.
"I will be discussing Midoryia's current condition tomorrow with the rest of the class. Now, while I was at the hospital, what happened after I left? I had second thoughts about leaving you guys alone at ground beta." Silence followed afterwords.
"You want us to be honest, right?" Kyoka was the first to speak up after the period of silence. Aizawa's eyes narrowed and his voice grew serious.
"What happened? I want the full truth, now." Kyoka sighed shakily and spoke.
"After you left, Todoroki kind of blew up on Bakugo. I've never seen Todoroki so mad at someone before. I swear if we didn't stop him, he would have killed Bakugo. Todoroki said some stuff about why he didn't use his flames for Bakugo, and I think that goes way back to the sports festival. It seems the two have had a grudge against each other for a long time, and finally have a reason to fight it out. But that last part is just what I think." Eijiro and Hanta nodded and agreed with everything Kyoka has said.
"Why don't you get Todoroki to explain then? And you never told me why you guys are out here at 12:3-" Aizawa looked at his watch, "12:38 am." Eijiro spoke up before Kyoka could respond.
"That's the thing. Todoroki hasn't come back yet. I guess we're kind of worried." Aizawa tilted his head to the side slightly.
"What do you mean? I sent him back to dorms hours ago." Kyoka gave out a slight gasp and let go of her ear cords she'd been tugging at the entire time.
"Wait what? You've spoken to him? Mr. Aizawa, nobody has seen Todoroki since he left ground beta. He's not at the dorms. And does that mean recovery girl is back? Are his injuries checked out?" Aizawa slowly shook his head.
"No, I didn't know he was injured. I guess it was too dark to see any injuries. I caught him walking around and told him to head back. How badly is he hurt?" Aizawa's tone went from slightly annoyed to the same worried tone the other 3 were carrying.
"His left arm is severely burned and it looked at the time that he had an injury to the stomach as well. If he's not healed, and he's not at the dorms. That means he's out here somewhere at UA, or at worst, somewhere else. We need to find him." Aizawa nodded.
"I'll wake up other teachers. It's dangerous for an injured student to be out during the night. Jiro can you find him with your quirk?" She dug her ear jack into the ground and listened carefully.
"I'm not getting anything. Either he's not in my range, or asleep. This will be a problem. If he's asleep we have to check everywhere even if my quirk doesn't detect him. I'm practically useless in this situation. I'm sorry." She looked down and rubbed her arm.
"It's okay Jiro, we'll figure this out together." Eijiro smiled at Kyoka, and she nods back.
"Let's do this."
