"The doctor said pwede ka ng madischarge," Kaiden said the moment he entered the hospital room where Meghan was confined. Ito lang din ang pumasok sa limang bodyguards niya.

Kaiden grab a chair and sat near her. Siya naman ay nakaupo lang sa kama. She looked at Kade and she couldn't read his expression. The news that Dr. Geneva told her earlier was still lingering on her mind. Kanina, iyak lang siya ng iyak matapos siyang mabalitaang nagdadalang-tao siya kaya siya nawalan ng malay. That she should be careful next time since her body is in a delicate stage.

For all her life, she thought she could no longer get pregnant or bear a child... but then the lab results say otherwise.

Now, she's not even sure what to feel anymore. She's confused, shocked, anxious... and scared. She's scared. She's fucking scared.

What if she'll get into trouble because she's pregnant?

What will the people say?

That she got pregnant by her bodyguard.

That she got pregnant out of wedlock.

That she's having sex with her bodyguard.

That Lt. Velasco broke his protocol as a PSG - that he fucked her and impregnated her?

What if... what if Kaiden doesn't want a child?

What if... all along, everything between them is just pure sex?

What if Stefano will learn about it and he won't only hurt her but also her unborn child that she's carrying?

This is all her fault.

"Did you cry?"

Hindi naman niya inasahan ang tanong nito. Kaiden just stared at her and looked serious. She knows her eyes were still red because of her sobs earlier.

"The other bodyguards, nasaan sila?" She asked him instead. Somehow, she felt wary that her other bodyguards might become suspicious of her and Lt. Velasco.

"They're outside. I told them na ako ang mag-eescort sayo papalabas dito," He simply answered, "Why did you cry, Meg? What did the doctor say?"

Napatitig naman siya rito at napakagat-labi, "It's nothing serious... She just said that I was overfatigue because I overworked. Kailangan ko lang magpahinga. Napaiyak lang ako because I thought the doctor's going to tell me that I have a complicated illness," She lied. It wasn't the right time to tell him about her pregnancy yet...

Napabuntong-hininga naman ito matapos ang sinabi niya. Pagkatapos ay hinawakan nito ang kamay niya at hinalikan ang tuktok niyon, "Okay. We'll bring you home after this. Maybe the doctor was right, you're working too much. You should just stay in the house for the mean time."

Tinanguan naman niya ito. Then she noticed Kade's eyes looked worried.

"You made me worry earlier, Mayor," He said softly, "I was having anxiety all over again when we brought you here..."

She reached for his cheek and touched it, she smiled, "Sorry, dapat siguro nakinig na lang ako sayo kanina. I just thought kaya kong magtrabaho ngayong araw, it turned out hindi pala. Adding that Stefano even went there at the relocation site... what did he say to you?"

"It doesn't matter," Sagot naman nito at umiling, "Ang importante, ligtas ka. My priority is your safety and that's the most important thing."

"I also want your safety too, Lieutenant," She replied, sighing, "I'm so sorry... it's because of me that's why you got involved with this mess."

"I like mess and I like you so it's fine," Kade naughtily winked at her. She shook her head. Parang kailan lang, ang sungit-sungit nito sa kanya...

"I promise, I'll protect you always, Meghan," He said firmly.

"Anak, I have something to tell you," Meghan stopped from getting her clothes out from the bag after what her father just said on the call. Kakarating lang niya sa beach house nila na nasa probinsya. Before getting discharged from the hospital yesterday, Dr. Geneva advised her to get bedrest for a least a week. Kaya naman instead of just staying at home, she decided to stay at her family beach house again in the province. She decided to go alone and didn't invite her helpers to come with her - of course, with her bodyguards around.

"Ano po 'yun?" Even she was curious.

"I already have investigated your ex-husband, Stefano," Maxim told her in other line, "We got some important piece of information about him..."

Napahigpit naman siya sa paghawak ng phone niya, "Ano po?"

Bumuntong-hininga naman ito, "I'm so sorry, this is really all my fault, anak. The reason why he's after you since then is because he's the son of my friend who became an enemy when I was young... he's real father, Gianluca Cravelli, he was put behind bars until his death, anak. And it was because of me... because he was a criminal - and he's part of the illegal syndicate for drugs and smuggling. You were right when you saw Stefano talking to people who were related to drugs... because his family itself are into it."

"And I didn't know he had a son," Her father's voice became problematic, "When I was in college, I'm part of a fraternity and most of the frat members, they came from different rich and influential family. That's how I became friends with Luca. But he was different... he killed someone from the frat just because of his madness. Then I discovered his real family background..."

When she was about to say something, she stopped again when she heard something. Mag-isa lang siya sa kwarto niya sa mga oras na iyon. She excused her dad on the phone as she stood up from sitting on the bed.

"Kaiden?" She called his name, thinking it was his bodyguard. Nang malapit na siya sa pintuan ng kwarto ay dahan-dahan naman niyang binuksan ang pinto.

"Kai--" She was shocked when an unfamiliar man suddenly grabbed her and covered her mouth. Ipinasok naman siya ulit nito sa kwarto at sinara pa nito ang pinto. Pilit na nagpupumiglas siya sa mga braso nito nakapulupot sa kanya.

"Bitawan mo ko!!!" She screamed as she kept punching the man who was attacking her. She was struggling to get out from his grasp. Nagulat na lang siya nang bigla nitong sinuntok ng malakas ang sinapupunan siya. Shocked and in pain, she lost her strength as she slowly fell into the floor.

Her baby...

She was already lying down on the floor when the man kicked her tummy hard once again. Then another one and another - while the man mumbled that he's going to hurt her more if she's not going to shut up.

She could feel her tears coming out from her eyes because of the pain she was feeling on that time. Her vision is becoming blurry...

"Meg!"

It was Kaiden's voice. Even though she couldn't see anymore clearly, she was sure that Kade was now attacking the man. Then she heard a gunshot.

The man who attacked her earlier walked towards her. Walang hirap na binuhat kaagad siya nito. She already lost all her strength. She couldn't fight back while the man was carrying her out from the room... and she looked back. Although it was blurry, she saw Kaiden lying on the floor with blood all over his body. He was unconscious.

He got shot.

And there was blood all over him.

He didn't move anymore.

"No..." Her cries were no longer heard as the man who attacked them carried her outside her house. There was a black van. And there were a lot of unfamiliar men surrounding it...

She was being kidnapped.
