I'm not going to lie. The next week and a bit at the lunch table were the most awkward days i'd experienced ever. Luke and Cleo had fell out in first period and still hadn't made up and as for Ash and his girlfriend, they were arguing over nothing while we were all sat there.I sat tapping my fingers on the table my other hand occupied by Calum's under the table, his thumb rubbing softly over the back of it. Nobody had mentioned us, and we'd kept it pretty low around the school. I think they're all so caught up in their own relationships that now, they're finally going to leave us alone.
My thoughts were broken when I heard Ash's girlfriend get up from the table shouting many profanities at him, and his hair was wet probably having had a drink poured on him. His jaw was clenched and his hands balled into fists. It didn't take long for him to get out of his seat and wonder off in the opposite direction.
"And then there were four." Calum mumbled scooting a little closer to me, our legs pressed together and our hands laid on top. "Got a feeling them two have made up" i said quietly. Calum then turned his attention to the two teens hugging. "Thank god. It would be so awkward if we'd just gotten together and they broke up." He chuckled.

"Luke and I were thinking, maybe we should all stay here, you know at home instead of flying across the world alone." Cleo said standing in the middle of the room, swinging her and Luke's entwined hands back and forth. "But Calum wants a scholarship at NYU and I want to maybe go there or Cambridge" I shrugged. Leaving Cleo behind would be the worst thing to happen, but staying at home is a really bad idea. I want to be somewhere new.
"So what's going to happen with you two?" I shrugged looking over at Calum who stared at me from across the room, his jaw locked and his eyes softly focusing on me. "We'll work it out." I said giving him a small smile. It's true we will work it out, there's a way. "Well okay" Cleo said giving me a smile and a short hug. "See you guys tomorrow" Luke said being pulled out of Calum's house by Cleo.
"We will work it out right?" I said following Calum upstairs to his room. "Course"

We'd been sat in Calum's room for maybe an hour, playing video games, messing around and jumping on his bed. Well maybe just me jumping on his bed but whatever. When his dad came upstairs awkwardly meeting me for the first time. I'd already met Joy, she was lovely she really liked the fact Calum finally had a girlfriend.
Calum's dad laughed when he first came into the room, seeing me terrorise his son must have been a funny sight. "Finally someone who's not scared to show him who's boss" Calum's dad said chuckling at us. "I wear the trousers Mr Hood." I smiled not removing myself from Calum's back.
"It's only been a week how do you know that?" Calum said softly pinching my leg. "I just do sweetie." Calum's dad let out another laugh reminding us he was still in the room while we bickered. "Nice to meet you Erin. Joy said you're welcome to stay for dinner, Mali and her boyfriend will be here too" his dad smiled. "Nice to meet you too"
