I hear soft beats in a smooth rhythm as I wake up. "Oh my gosh, Riley. You're awake." I hear someone say. The lights are so bright and my vision is really blurry so I can barely see anything. All of a sudden, I feel myself start to choke. "Someone help!" I hear another person say as I squirm around, trying to stop choking on I don't know what. I feel someone hold my face as I feel something being pulled out of my throat. I cough and take deep breathes as my vision starts to come back to normal. I see bright lights being shined in my eyes by a man with a white coat. "It's okay, hun. Can you tell me your name?" He asked. "Riley." I said with a scratchy and shaky voice. He turns off the light, stepping away from me. "Very good." He said. I see that I'm in a hospital. I look around and see Jenna and Jonah's mom. She walks over to me and takes my hand. "Riley." She said, looking kinda scared. "Hey. Oh my gosh, I'm so happy to see you." I said. She smiles and give me a light hug. "Hi, Riley." Jonah's mom said with a smile. "Hi." I said as she also gives me a light hug. "So, her stats look good." The doctor said. "Oh, that's great." Jonah's mom said. The doctor looks at me. "Do you remember why you're here, Riley?" He asked. I think super hard. Then, it all comes back to me. My eyes fill with tears and my heart starts beating really fast. "I was shot." I said with a shaky voice. "Yes, you were. Do you remember anything else?" He asked me. "I remember being kidnapped and beat up by a big man. And corbyn being shot." I said. Then it hits me what I just said. "Corbyn. I need to see corbyn." I said, trying to sit up. "Woah. Not so fast. You can't get out of bed just yet. We're not finished yet." He said. I lay back down and sigh. "So, when the ambulance got to your house, your heart stopped. They revived you but when they got you to the hospital, your heart stopped again. So we took you into surgery. We realized the bullet went straight into your heart." He said. "It went into my heart?" I asked. "Yeah. Do you know how lucky you are to be alive right now?" The doctor asked. "I feel pretty lucky." I said, sarcastically. "The surgery was a week ago. Your heart needed time to repair, that's why you slept so long." The doctor said, completely ignoring what I had just said. "How long does she have to stay in the hospital for?" Jenna asked the doctor. "We'll see how her heart progresses but I would say tomorrow. We can use today as a 'getting used to walking and talking day'." He said. "Okay. Thank you." Jonah's mom said. "No problem. I'll leave you guys some time alone." He said as he walks out of the room. "Wait." I said. The doctor stops and walks back into the room. "Is Corbyn okay?" I asked him. "Yes, corbyn is okay. He also had a surgery on his abdomen. It went well and he was discharged yesterday." The doctor said. "Okay." I said. The doctor walks out of the room. "The boys are at home (corbyns moms house) with corbyn. They visit you everyday. They switch from yours and corbyns room." Jonah's mom said. I nod and look down. "I can't believe this happened." I said. "I know. But mom and that Tom guy are in jail so they got what they deserved." Jenna said. "Jenna, we weren't supposed to tell her that yet." Jonah's mom said. "Oh, sorry." Jenna said. "No, it's okay. I'm glad." I said. I see Jonah's mom text someone on her phone. "Does it hurt?" Jenna asked as she looks at my patched up chest. "It Just feels sore." I said. "Oh. So, are you okay?" She asked. "I just told you I was." I said. "No, I mean, emotionally." She said. "Oh. Yeah I guess so. It's kinda traumatic being shit by your own mother but I think I'll get over it." I said. "Well, you never know how you'll feel once you get home." Jonah's mom said. "Home? Where is home?" I asked. "With me and Jenna." Jonah's mom said. "Oh...I thought..." I said. "You don't want to live with us?" Jenna asked. "No, I do. It's just...I don't wanna leave Corbyn again. I promised him I wouldn't." I said. Jonah's mom nods. "I'm sure the boys would be okay with it. They're on their way right now so you should ask them." She said. "Okay." I said. I look out the window and see that it's bright out. "Is it bad that I'm super tired?" I asked. "You literally slept for a whole week." Jenna said. I laugh a little. "I know but I'm just so weak." I said. "Yeah, it's normal for that to happen. You take all the rest you need." Jonah's mom said. I nod before I hear a knock at the door. I look and see Jonah with two balloons and a pot of flowers in this hands. "Heyyy, you're awake!" He said, happily but softly. I smile as he sets down the flowers and balloons and gives me a light hug. The rest of the boys give me a hug too. "Where's Corbyn?" I asked, not seeing him. "He stayed home. He's really tired. But he told me to tell you that he misses you and he'll see you soon." Daniel said. I nod. "So, what did the doctor say?" Jack asked Jonah's mom. "He said she can go home tomorrow." She said. "That's awesome!" Zach said. "Yeah. But Riley was wondering if she can live with you guys in Los Angeles." Jonah's mom said. "Of coarse you can, Riley. You're always welcome." Jonah said. I smile. "Plus, corbyn would love if you lived together." Daniel said. I nod and laugh. "Are you hurting?" Zach asked me as he looks at my patched up chest. "It just feels sore." I said. "Do you want some water?" Jack asked me. "Yeah, sure." I said. He take a cup of water from the nightstand next to my bed and hands it to me. I take a sip and hand it back to him. I lay my head back and feel my eyelids starting to get heavier and heavier. "Oh, I have a funny story to tell. So, me and the boys were playing fortnite and then, all of a sudden, the doorbell rings." Daniel said. He continues telling the story but I'm so tired that I stopped listening. I feel myself drifting off to sleep as I hear them laugh about the story Daniels telling. I finally close my eyes and fall asleep

I feel someone touch my arm as I wake up. I open my eyes and see Daniel standing over me. It gives me a flashback of when he was standing over me, pressing down on the gunshot wound on my chest. My heart starts beating really fast and I immediately start crying as I start breathing really fast. I get kinda scared that maybe something happened to me again. "What's the matter?" Daniel asked me, confused and worried. "What did you do to her?" Jack asked as he walks over to me. "I don't know. I just touched her arm." Daniel said. "I'm sorry." I said as I cry and try to catch my breath. "It's okay. What's going on?" Daniel asked as he puts his hand on my arm. I grab his hand and hold it tight, still getting flashbacks of when I got shot. I feel like I can still feel it too. "I remember how it felt and what happened exactly." I said, crying so hard. "Aww, Riley." Jack said as he moves my hair out of my face. "I remember you on top of me." I cried to Daniel. He moves back a little and let's go of my hand. "Oh, I'm sorry. I'm stay back." He said. "No, no." I said, still freaking out. Jack substitutes Daniel and holds my hand. "It's okay. Nothing bad is happening right now." He said as he rubs my head as well. "I just wanna go home. I'm scared." I said, trying to catch my breath. "I know. You're gonna leave soon, just breathe." He said. I look at Jenna and she sad for me, same with Jonah's mom. "It's okay, Riley. Just take a deep breath." Jonah says. I have a flashback to when he said that to me and Corbyn. "I wanna get out of here!" I said as I cried. I sit up and try to get out of bed but the boys stop me. I try to push them off and squirm away but the don't let me. "Get the doctor. I think she's having a panic attack." Jonah said as he holds me in his arms. "It's okay." He said sympathetically as he rubs my head. I close my eyes and try to stop remembering all the detail from that night. I try to breathe but it's not working. I cough and sniffle as I cry. The doctor runs in. "What's going on?" He asked. "She's freaking out. I don't know what's wrong." Jonah said as he holds me tight. "It's all in my head. It's all in my head. It's all in my head." I repeated as I squeeze my eyes shut tight and I cry. "Okay, okay. I'm gonna give her a sedative so she calms down." The doctor said as he pulls out a big needle. He pushes it into my arm as I continue to cry. "Stop thinking about it, sweetheart. It's making it worse." The doctor said. "I can't! It's flooding my brain!" I said. "Okay, just take deep breathes." He said. I feel my body starting to feel weaker and weaker by the second. "There we go. It's working." The doctor said as I stop squirming. Jonah is still holding me in his arms as we're on the bed. My body feels numb now and I feel really tired. "She's gonna feel groggy and weak for a few hours. She should be fine." The doctor said. "Okay, thank you." Jonah's mom said. The doctor walks out. I look into Jonah's eyes as he looks at me. "Poor thing." Jonah's mom said. Jonah rubs my head and smiles. "See. You're okay." He said. Zach sits on the bed as well and gives me a hug. I don't give him one back because I can barely move. I look around and see that Jenna looks scared. I wanna tell her not to be scared but I can't talk. I feels myself drifting off to sleep. I groan because I don't wanna go to sleep. I don't know what's gonna happen. "It's okay. You can go to sleep." Jonah said. "We'll be right here when you wake up. I promise." Daniel said. As soon as he said that, I fall asleep.
