It was another late night, Stacey was pulling an all-nighter again. The streets were wet and empty, not one figure can be seen outside mainly due to the heavy pouring rain over the city of Munclayo. The sitting room was dark. The only light source was shining on the books spread open across the polished dark oak desk."Toby...not now," Stacey was getting distracted. "I won't be able to finish this by tonight if you keep licking my feet." She giggled from the touch of his wet tongue.
"Woof."
She knew what he wanted, she knew what he was thinking. "Toby but it's raining outside," Stacey plead down to him looking into his dark pearly black eyes.
Toby whimpers and showed off his puppy dog eyes.
"Fine, I could use a little break." She got up and fetch her coat as Toby excitedly jumped up from the little cushion he was laying on. "Come on boy."
She attached a leash onto Toby's collar, grabbed an umbrella, and went out the door.
"Now, we have to be back before one okay?" Stacey strictly told Toby.
It was nearly passed midnight and no moving cars and no one can be sighted across the block. Only the lit street lamps can be seen flickering at some point. A loud grumbling sound was heard.
"Oh! I thought that was thunder." That was Stacey's stomach. She was feeling hungry, "hmm...maybe we should grab a bite. Don't you think so boy?"
Stacey and Toby were strolling along the street hoping there might still be a place opened that sells food. Just in luck, they found a cafe that had on lights right around the corner. She checked to see the sign. It was opened. Stacey closed her umbrella and went inside with Toby.
The café was empty. It was beautifully decorated with bright dangling tiny light bulbs hanging from the ceiling. The colour scheme of the place gave off a comfortable atmosphere and the marbled counter-top was spotless, complemented by its glistering reflection.
Stacey took a seat on a stool in front of the counter. She greeted as soon as a person just came out of a door behind the counter. "Hi, can I get a glass of iced tea and a blueberry muffin please." She looked at the menu they had placed nearby the napkins. "And do you recommend any special treats for this little guy?" She pointed to Toby who was sitting beside her with his tongue sticking out.
The smiling lady looked to be in her mid-twenties took a peek at him.
"Aww! I've got just the treat. It'll just be a minute." She left to make tea in the back and came back with a muffin and a bowl of dog biscuits shaped like hearts.
"Mr. Daniels, the usual?" She was speaking to a gentleman that Stacey hadn't noticed coming in a few seconds ago. He shot a nod and stood idly by a seat away from Stacey.
He was a tall good-looking and sexy man with eyes piercing like the blue ocean on a hot cloudless day. His dark locks give an impression of a soft touch.
