"Nicholas?"
"Stacey." Nicholas just came back from the bathroom, he looked like he had a fun night out. His clothes were a bit messy.
Stacey abruptly hopped off the stool and rushed into his arms. He welcomed her gracefully and kissed her, practically lifting her up when they exchanged warm hugs.
"Wow, I'm in total surprise. Aren't you supposed to be out with the guys?" Stacey asked, she was happy to see him before he left.
"I was, but after our little hang out they wanted to hit some club and I wasn't feeling it since I got an early flight to catch in the morning.""Is it that club that recently opened downtown?"
"Yeah, that's the one."
"That's funny, I just came back from there with the girls." She laughed. "Won't it be funny running into you there."
"Haha, yes but it looks like I ran into you here instead." He chuckled and showed off his charming smile that every girl in college would swoon over.
Nicholas seemed nervous when Stacey mentioned the club, they both sat down and continued having their conversation.
"Stacey, I'm so sorry for the way we left things. I mean we could've had a better goodbye." He held her hand close to his chest.
"Nicholas, where do we stand right now?" Stacey placed her hands on top of his.
"What do you mean?"
"Our relationship, would this work out?" Stacey isn't having any doubts about them, but she wants to know where this is going.
Being exclusive and even confessing their love a little too early doesn't determine anything. It's a commitment of words but whether they're going to live up to comes with a steady flow of communication.
"Are you questioning our relationship right now? After what we had said to each other? Does it mean nothing to you?" Nicholas was hurt, he thought she could understand how important his career is to him.
"No, all of that means something. I just don't know." Stacey fiddled with her fingers, she doesn't want to talk about it. She felt like it was too early to bring it up.Nicholas placed his hand on her shoulders, he wants her to know she can talk to her about anything. "Stacey, you don't have to keep it in. Whatever you have to say, you should say it."
"Okay...what's going to happen to us after graduation? You don't even live here and I don't even know what I'm going to do next."
"Can't we figure it out after graduation? It's like a month from now."
This wasn't the answer she was hoping for, "No. I want to know now. If I wait, my mind is going to explode. I don't want to have to worry about what's going to happen next. I need to know that if this can't work, you should say it before anything else happen."
"Come with me."
"What?" Stacey asked. Did he just ignore all the things I just said to him?
"Come with me to Germany," Nicholas exclaimed with his eyes popping out. "We can see the world together, I want you to come with me."
"What? Just drop everything and go with you? Don't you have work and don't you think I have to go explore my options too? I can't just leave everything I've worked for just to go to Germany with you."
"Yes, but I'll be able to be with you every single day." Nicholas' eyes were twinkling, bewitched by his love for this woman. "Look, there's plenty of internships or jobs in Germany you can apply to. I can help you look for the right one."
