"Stacey, don't tell me you stayed up all night crying."
It was the next morning, Emma and Jenni had gone over to her place after hearing the news of Stacey and Nicholas, "Why didn't you call us?" Emma was rubbing her back, Stacey was covered in used napkins. She hasn't left the couch since last night when she was sobbing throughout dawn.
Jenni came back with a glass of water for Stacey, "Yeah, we didn't care if it was past midnight. Whenever you need us, we would be at that front door as soon as possible."
Not a single word had been spoken out of Stacey's mouth, she quietly drank the water while staring at the blank television screen. Her face was in a terrifying state, if it was Halloween, she could easily scare anyone off with that look.
"You know...Fredrick told us everything," Emma mentioned then looked at Jenni who was picking up the used napkins around them, "We tried calling you this morning, but it was worrying when you didn't answer so many missed calls."
It was past noon when the girls went to check up on Stacey, "Sweetie, have you eaten?" Stacey shook her head at Emma's question.
"I'll fix you something," Jenni left to go in the kitchen to find some food for Stacey to eat.
The outcome of the breakup was breaking the girls' hearts witnessing their friend wrenching in pain. In the meantime, Nicholas was also having a perplexing time with the breakup. Even though it was a mutual agreement, the aftermath was putting a heavy toll on them.
Nicholas was staying in a hotel near the airport, he never went back home given his condition and he would be leaving for Germany tonight. Fredrick was there to make sure he doesn't do anything stupid, again.
"Come on, you haven't moved a muscle since I picked you up at four in the morning!" He was laying on the bed being shaken by Fredrick, "What were you thinking?"
"I wasn't going to jump..." His car was found parked on the edge of a cliff by Fredrick when he received a call from the police. Nicholas was curled up like a ball hugging the big fluffy pillow.
He was finally at rest when Fredrick gave up from shaking him, "I've never seen you like this before." Fredrick stood aside with his arms on his hips while observing his broken-hearted friend, "You know you have to get your head together man, you're leaving tonight and can't show up to a board meeting like that in the next day."
The boy groaned, he was heartbroken and there was nothing that could help him feel better about this breakup.
Back at Stacey's place, the girls were trying to get Stacey off the couch to eat something. They were pulling her arms, but every time they got her to sit up, she slams back down with zero energy.
A plate with sandwiches and baked goods were brought into the room by Jenni, "I hope you like PB and J because that's what I could make from the limited food supply in the kitchen."
"Thanks," They finally got Stacey to sit up still without falling back down.
The plate of a freshly made peanut butter and jelly sandwich complemented by two muffins were lifted in front of Stacey's face, "I figured you might need something strong to wake you up." She hands her a mug of hot brewed coffee. It was poured from a store-bought coffee they had ordered for her.
One of the muffins from the plate was a victim when it was splattered all over the ashy blue wall.
"Hey! Why did you do that for?" The muffin was thrown by Stacey which prompted Jenni in a frenzy of shock.
In a matter of seconds, Stacey responded with a waterfall of tears. The muffins reminded her of Nicholas, it was what she had when they met for the first time at that corner cafe.
