In the living room, Emma and Stacey were munching down the delicious muffins Jenni had baked for them. It was unbelievable mouth-watering, someone can fall in love with just one bite.
"Mmm, okay so if Jenni's mom is in town..." Stacey tried to swallow down a piece of muffin, "do you think we'll still have time to go shopping?"
Emma held her muffin close and sniffing the alluring scent before taking another bite, "I don't know...we only got four days left until graduation and we have rehearsals to attend."
"So basically we have two days." Stacey bluntly replied, "Oh no." She sank down the couch smooching her face with the muffin.
"Hey, aren't you excited you're going to see Nicholas soon?" Emma dreamingly said, "and Fredrick is going to as my date."
"Yeah totally, I haven't spoken to him for a while..."
Emma sensed something was up. "Why, did something happen?"
"Nothing, he's just been busy with his work lately."
"Oh, I'm sure he'll pop up soon," Emma reassured her.
Jenni walked into the living room, she wasn't as upbeat as earlier which drew the girls in alarm.
"Hey Jenni, is everything all right?" Stacey handed a muffin to her as she took a seat.
"Umm...my grandmother is hospitalized." She said, slowly taking a piece of muffin and popping it into her mouth.
"Oh my god, what happened?" Emma asked.
"Is she going to be okay?" Stacey was as worried as Emma.
Jenni's grandmother was like their own grandmother, during some weekends they girls would take a road trip down to the countryside where her grandmother lives. They would spend the two nights in the cozy cottage and drink hot cocoa. Jenni's grandmother would tell the girls crazy life stories. It's usually a relaxing trip, they've been doing it for four years now. It's normally cold and snows where grandma is living so whenever they went up there, a recreation of snowmen would be displayed near the cottage before they leave.
"Yeah...she's resting," Jenni said, she tried to smile but they all knew her heart weighed down heavily with concern. "My mom said she just needed some rest in order to recover."
"Where's your mom?" Emma asked realizing the house was too quiet.
Jenni's mother left a moment back, "She got called into work for an emergency."
"Well, are you going to visit your grandma?" Stacey asked.
"Yeah, but we had the whole day planned! Aren't we going to go shopping for dresses?"
"No, no we can reschedule," Emma told Jenni there's no need to rush. Her grandmother is more important than a dress.
"Yeah, you should go visit her," Stacey suggested, they would've come along but at this point, it's only families are allowed.
"Well...I do want her to be there for me when I graduate." Jenni got up and took another muffin from the pan.
"There's the spirit! Call us when you get there!" Emma called out as Jenni went to grab her coat.
"See you guys later! Don't forget to lock up for me if you leave." Jenni exited and went to get a cab.
"So, got any plans today?" Stacey asked Emma.
"Hmm, it got scratched...you want to go see this new exhibition they had opened in the museum? I read on the news that it's some rare-" Emma was interrupted by her phone ringing.
