"I don't get it. Why are you acting like this? Why are you pushing me away? Did I do something wrong? Did I do something to make you angry? I thought you were happy in this relationship but now it's as if you don't want anything to do with me. What's going on, (Y/N)?" He kept his distance, not wanting to come near you. The clock chimed Midnight as you leaned against the railing of the Astronomy Tower, so many old memories surfacing.

Sighing, he took a few cautious steps towards you, setting his hand on your back, gently. You flinched, shying away from his touch. He quickly withdrew his hand, scowling. You shook your head in frustration. What the Hell was going on with you?

"Fine. If you're not going to talk to me, I'm going back to bed. I'm not in the mood to play these bullshit games, (Y/N). I can't help you if I don't understand what the Hell is going on," he retorted as he turned and started towards the stairs.

"Wait. Please, don't leave. Not yet," you pleaded. He turned slowly but he didn't rush back to your side as you had expected him to. Instead, he seemed frozen in place, baffled and heartbroken. You released an exasperated sigh, raking your hands through your (H/C) hair. You turned to face him, offering him your hand. "Ced... Please... Let's just talk about this..."

He looked at you skeptically before stepping forward and stopping a few inches in front of you. His blue eyes glanced down at your outstretched hand, but his arms remained crossed over his broad chest. He shook his head, his mouth pressed into a thin line. "That's what I've been trying to do. But you pushed me away. I honestly don't know what else you want me to say. What do you expect me to do, " he whispered. You stood in silence, staring into his pale blue irises, an awkward silence occupying the space between the two of you. You sighed, taking a step froward, your palm reaching up to cradle his cheek as you kissed him lightly. Much to your surprise, he tensed and pulled back, frowning.

"What was that?! What's going on with you? Is this some kind of sick joke? Because if it is, it's not very funny, (Y/N). Do you have any idea how upset I've been? You have no idea what this has done to me. I've been sick to my stomach with worry for hours. I came up here hoping to get an explanation. But at this point, I have more questions, than answers. You don't want to talk to me, you won't stand within a few feet of me, and you've rejected all of my efforts of affection. And then you go and kiss me? What the Hell is going on," he asked, his tone unusually harsh. You averted your eyes, not knowing what to say. Cedric never snapped at you, but tonight was an obvious exception. You shook your head, staring at the ground. You couldn't blame him. His reaction was perfectly reasonable. He was confused and hurt. And it was all your fault. You turned away from him, the back of your nose burning. You bit your lip, trying to hold in the tears. He sighed, sadly, shaking his head, guilt stricken. He took your hand in his own, rubbing soft circles into your smooth skin with his thumb.

You sank to the ground, tears steadily falling down your cheeks. Your head was swarming with thousands of spiraling thoughts, you were wracked with guilt and ashamed of your own behaviour. Cedric sat down next to you, still remaining a safe distance away, though your hands were still intertwined. All you wanted was to be close to him. You looked up at him, your beautiful (E/C) eyes filled with agony. His face fell, tears beginning to fall from his own eyes as he pulled you into his arms and up onto his lap. He wrapped his strong arms around your waist, holding you close to him, as you buried your face in his cotton t-shirt. He sighed, gently pressing a comforting kiss to the top of your head.

"(Y/N), my love, look at me," he whispered as your gaze met his. His slender fingers brushed a few stray hairs from your face as he wiped away your tears. "Baby... I didn't mean to be so harsh... and I shouldn't have lost my temper but we have to be able to communicate. This relationship isn't going to last if we can't. I just... My sweet girl... Don't you get it? I would do anything in this world for you and the last thing I want is for you to be upset or hurt or angry. Please, help me to understand. All I want to do is help. Tell me what's going on, love, and we'll get through it. Together. I promise," he reassured you, placing another kiss on your forehead. You averted your eyes, unable to look at his piercing blue eyes. You sighed heavily.
