"Here."
Looking at his outstretched hands, Giyu had decided that you wear his haori for the meantime. It bought trouble to his thoughts seeing how each minute that went by, your breathing pace began to pick up and the bags beneath your eyes darkened. He knew that his haori had no charm in it, but it was the most he could do for now.
"Are you sure?" Looking into his blue orbs, you saw the genuine care he had. Accepting his haori, you let him assist you in wearing it. Giyu even went to the lengths of adjusting your torn up haori resting on your neck. Using whatever remnants your cloth had to offer, you turned it into a makeshift scarf. It usually worked but only for a few hours.
"I sent out Karasutori to inform Ubuyashiki-sama to relay the information." Giyu added as he adjusted his Nichirin blade. When his eyes went back to you, he saw just how loose his haori was on you. It made you look smaller and the way the sleeves hung just above your fingertips were enough to cause his pale skin to turn a very light shade of pink. Clearing his throat, he continued. "If we leave now, we can probably make it in about 4 hours."
4 hours. That was borderline. Make do with what you have, that's what you told yourself.
"If you feel uneasy, just tell me." Giyu added before opening the doors for you. Upon seeing your affirmative nod, he motioned for you to exit first as he checked the room for anything else you might have forgotten.
Waiting for him by the gate, your attention darted to the sky. The weather was to your liking. Just enough clouds to cover the sun, chilly wind would occasionally pass, and the grayish hue cast on the environment was relaxing. Letting out a sigh, your thoughts wandered to Giyu's wound.
Though it was bandaged real good and the bleeding had now lessened, the travel could possibly open it up once more. Of course you knew he was much more careful than that, but the image of him wincing in so much pain would forever be etched in your mind. Heart sinking at the mental image of stabbing the person you cared for the most, your fist clenched till your knuckles turned white.
Startled at the sudden touch, you were met with Giyu. His eyes focused on both your hands. Meeting your gaze, he gently squeezed your hand to let you know that no matter what would happen, he would always be there to lend a helping hand. When he saw the corners of your lips lifting into a small smile, a sense of relief washed on him.
"Shall we?"
Nodding, the two of you began the painfully long journey back to the Ubuyashiki mansion.

On the 3rd hour mark, the running had to stop.
Your thoughts were now everywhere. Every inch of your body was now trembling. The wind was cold but you were sweating bullets. Clutching harshly on to your chest, you desperately tried to control your breathing. The added fact that both of you were running only made your hyperventilating much worse. Upon closer inspection, Giyu saw just how pale you were now compared to when you two began the journey.
"We're almost there." Giyu tried to reassure you as he pulled you in for a hug. His hand softly patting the back of your head. The way you were leaning on to his frame only proved his suspicions that you were now getting lightheaded and dizzy. Looking at the path, he estimated that the both of you would arrive in 45 minutes or so. "I'll carry you on my back. It'll make things quicker."
