"It's a good thing this woman right here decided to cauterize your wound, Tomioka-sama" The doctor commented as he examined Giyu's wound. "The damage is nothing to worry about. Healing may take a while but it won't hinder you and your activities. I do recommend not to be too rough and sudden with your movements."

Watching the doctor apply the medicinal cream, your thoughts began to wonder about the possible theories as to why the blade had acted like that once again. True, you had not been using it for quite some time now; but, considering the time frame, it wasn't that too long of its sedentary state. Even before the incident, you had slayed one demon while using its abilities. That would have been enough to satisfy it's needs for a good 3 months.

Remembering what had happened a few moments before Tanjiro and Nezuko were found, the blade had acted out in a similar fashion. The physical aspect of the situation was different but the internal sensations were similar. Perhaps it was time for you and the blade's sword to have a small conversation once again. Then again, the soul itself stated that he was unstable so the idea was now tossed to the bin.

"Kocho-sama will be dropping by to tend to your wounds." The doctor stated. "She has better medicine when it comes to these types of wounds."

That was not something you wanted to hear. This would have to be the first time you would come face to face with the reason why Giyu and you did not meet for the last 6 months. Assessing your emotions, there was a tiny spike of anger but it was manageable. Looking over to Giyu, he was now staring at his newly treated wound. Judging from the aura he was emitting, it was blank. He was somehow at peace for now. Knowing that he had a forced break, it must've been a hidden blessing for him.

"For the mean time, (L/N)-sama," The doctor proceeded. "Make sure he does no physical activities. At least for 2 days. He can still fight, but only if necessary."

Nodding to his instructions, you watched as the doctor took his leave.  Once the doors closed, you crawled towards Giyu and sat beside him. His eyes met yours and you opened your arms for him to come closer. When he let out a sigh, he shifted his position and rested his head on your lap. The open window caused the light to reflect into his lifeless eyes. Caressing his cheek, you blessed him with a soft smile.

"I'm not used to having breaks." He muttered. Holding on to your hands, his thumbs brushing your palm. "What do you want to do?"

Humming, you never really thought that you, too, were put into break-mode. Tapping his shoulder, he sat up and waited for your next move. Telling him to lay down, he followed and adjusted his arm in order for you to use him as a pillow.  Wrapping your arms around each other, you nuzzled on to his neck. His fingers now began playing with the ends of your hair.

"Kinda sucks were here in the Ubuyashiki manor. There's not much we can do. The next town is far and you need to rest." You peered over your shoulders and stared at the clear blue skies. Letting out a sigh, you stretched your limbs and pulled him into a tighter embrace. His warmth still inviting despite the heat the afternoon gave, his body was still as inviting as ever. "How about we catch up on some sleep, hmm?"

"I guess. I'll wake you up when I do." He replied back, pecking your forehead with lips.

"Sure~"

The moon now illuminated the skies. Crickets, frogs, and the occasional hoots from owls surrounded the area. Chilly air entered through the same open windows you had been staring at not too long ago. There wasn't much to do in the mansion so deciding on the nap was a rather good option, so it seems. As expected, you were the first one to wake up. Untangling yourself from the man was always a fun challenge.
