Despite being irritated with his husband, Izuku took on the task of bathing the two older kids before bed. When Junior couldn't keep his eyes open, Izuku took them out after 5 minutes, which of course, was upsetting for Kaneki, who wanted to play with the bubble a little longer.
While Izuku struggled to get the two ready, he kept glancing out the door to see if his husband would come to help him. Izuku was certain Katsuki could hear him struggling with two exhausted and upset children. Yet he chose to ignore them.
It took a lot of deep breaths to stop from exploding, Izuku had to remind himself that Katsuki was doing his best. And although there were things he wished he didn't have to ask, he knew once things become familiar, they would work as a team. Right now, he was just happy to see that the more time Katsuki spent with the children, the more affectionate, he was becoming.
As Izuku was going through the drier for clothes for the children, he saw the pajamas Uraraka had brought for them. Part of him saw the colorful tie-dye PJs and thought the children would look adorable in them. However, the main reason why Izuku chose to dress the kids in it was that he knew it would infuriate him. And after what Katsuki had put his heart through this evening, he deserved it.
When the kids were finally dressed, Izuku wondered how his mother was able to do this effortlessly. After Izuku dressed Kaneki, he went to dress Junior, by the time he was done dressing Junior, Kaneki was taking off her clothing.
Izuku made the mistake of laughing at first because she was so cute, but then she kept doing it, and part of him was a tiny bit irritated. Still, when he asked her for a hug and a kiss, that was the moment Kaneki forgot she was torturing him.
When they finally left the bedroom, Kaneki hurried down the hallway while Izuku carried Junior, who was too moody to walk. As Izuku looked at the little boy who hadn't been himself, Izuku was worried that something was seriously wrong with him. Part of him worried that maybe it had to do with how they came into this world.
When he got to the living, Izuku was shocked that Katsuki had given the baby a bath in the sink. Something Izuku was dreading to do after bathing the older kids. He watched as Katsuki, who was dressing Kiyoko on the couch, looked at what Kaneki was wearing before turning to him.
Katsuki didn't say anything, but Izuku knew he wasn't pleased by the way he narrowed his eyes. Izuku instantly felt terrible. To Izuku's defense, he never expected that Katsuki would bath the baby.
When Izuku walked over to Katsuki and the baby, he was surprised that she was sleeping while he was dressing her. Izuku smiled at how gentle he knew Katsuki must have been not to wake her up. As Katsuki finished zipping up Kiyoko's one-piece outfit, Izuku knew it must have been hard for Katsuki to put it on her because it was pink. If Izuku had planned on getting a kiss good night, he knew it wasn't happening.
"Of everything that we washed," Katsuki muttered, as he tried to keep Kaneki from kicking the baby to the floor so that she could sit next to him.
"No, baby!" Kaneki cried.
"Kaneki, you are a big sister, and big sisters protect their little sister, okay? So no hitting," Izuku said softly.
Kaneki ignored him and climbed on to Katsuki and hugged his neck. "My papa!"
Katsuki raised an eyebrow before he hid the smile that came to his face. He couldn't understand why he found this little person funny. "You're choking me," Katsuki said, loosening her arms.
"Papa night-night," she complained.
"Izuku laid Junior on the couch before scooping the baby to go put her in the crib.
