Chapter FIFTEEN

Tris's POV

"Tris I'm sorry." We were in the tent ready to sleep, but Mason decided against it. I really wasn't in the mood to talk to him right now.

"I don't wanna hear it."

"Just let me explain." He said looking at me.

"Mason you don't have to apologize or explain. I don't even like you, but you had to say it in my face and not in front of everyone." Mason looked hurt. Of course I lied, I liked Mason. But I was too hurt to admit it.

"You don't?"

"No."

"I don't believe you." He said coldly, his face void of any emotion.

"Why ? You don't like me either."

"Fine." He said and turned his head to look at the other side.

"Wake up lovebirds."

"Go away Charlie." I said sleepily.

"You must get up. This island is huge and we have a long journey ." I got up to find Mason still asleep.

"Mason. Wake up." I shook him.

"I'll be up in a second." He said groggily. I stood up and took a bottle of water with me. I washed my face and brushed my teeth. Thankfully we had big bottles of water with us.

"I'll change my clothes real quick." I told them and went back to my tent. I entered and saw a shirtless Mason. I stared at his back while he flexed his muscles. He suddenly turned and I averted my eyes. He smirked knowing I was staring at him. Why does he have to be hot but a jerk!

"T-they're waiting f-for you." He nodded still smirking and left me alone in the tent. I changed my clothes fast and joined them .

"I'm afraid we won't be quick to find her." Anna said.

"Don't be pessimist Anna."

"Look there. " I pointed at a small cottage.

"Be careful. We don't know what's inside and we might get hurt. Watch your steps." Jacob said.

"I'll enter first. You know I don't want the ladies to get hurt." Charlie said with a small wave. I smirked at him.

"Okay Charlie go ahead." Charlie walked confidently to the cottage and entered it. We waited for 2 minutes but he didn't get out.

"Stay here I'll go check ok him." Mason said. As he was about to walk there, we heard a girly scream and Charlie ran outside the cottage running towards us.

"Run! There's a m-monster!" We ran in the cottage with him behind us shaking.

"There! Look there !" He said pointing to a corner. There was a big spider. Literally thé biggest I've seen in my life. I screamed and jumped in Mason's hands.

"Gotcha princess." He winked at me. I rolled my eyes like I don't care but my heart said otherwise . He put me down and I walked out the cottage.

"There's no sign of life here. Let's go." Jacob said.

"Other than the monster there." Charlie said scowling.

"Aw baby I never knew you were afraid of spiders." Bella said smirking. We laughed and kept walking.

We have been walking for 3 hours straight and still we found nothing other than the cottage. It was 2 in the afternoon and the sun was shining brightly.

"I'm tired." I said sitting on a rock .

"Me too." Mira sat next to me . The others sat on the floor. Thankfully we were surrounded by trees or we would be dying from the hot weather.

"It's been hours since we left this morning and still we found nothing."

"Yeah right. What should we do now?"

"We shouldn't give up . Our friend needs us. Boys if you fee like you're not obliged to come with us then don't." I said to them.

"Tris we're in this together. We won't leave you girls alone." Mason said. I didn't reply. Silent treatment it is.

"Yes we will stay with you." Jacob said .

"Thank you Jacob." I said smirking. Mason glared at me. Well he'll go through hell.

"Let's make some sandwiches and eat before continuing."

"I feel like I've seen this tree already." Mira said.

"It's like we're turning around in the same spot for 2 hours."

"Yeah and it's already 6 we should build the tents and get some rest."

"I agree." Anna said .

"Oh and Charlie."

"Yes?"

"Don't tell anymore stories." I told him and they all laughed while he glared at me.
