"What if they don't agree to a new member of the family?" Dolly questioned
"Honey, you've waited for so long and they'll be happy for you because they know if you're happy, then they should be." Judy said as Dolly heard footsteps.
"What's goin' on?" One of her sisters asked
"We just wanted to get everyone together and have a nice family dinner, so go make yourselves comfortable."
"Do y'all need any help?"
"Na, we got it all."
"Okay."
...
Later on that evening
They all moved to the dining room for dinner as they all conversated when Kenny started clinking his butter knife to his wine glass, which had ice and tea in it.
"May I have your attention, please?" He said as Dolly began to get nervous as it felt like the body of their little baby was already moving around, maybe he or she was.
"I knew something was up." Dolly's sister Rachel said.
"She can't fool us." Freida said
"She never could." Stella said
"The reason why we are all gathered here tonight in our home, all together is because we have a very exciting announcement to make."
Everyone stared as Dolly stood up and wrapped her arm around Kenny as he did too.
"Dolly?"
"Yes?"
"What is goin' on. The suspense is killin' us."
"We have been waitin' to tell y'all since we found out but I wanted to kinda get a few obstacles outta the way before we told y'all."
"Alright, out with it. You're not a very good secret keeper Dolly Rebecca, you never were."
"Not even as a grown woman nor a little girl."
"You wanna tell 'em dear or shall I?"
"If this is a way to tell us that someone is dyin', it's not funny."
"No one is dyin'. It's actually something we've been praying for, for a very long time."
"A puppy!" One of the little ones piped up in excitement.
"No honey, something even more wonderful."
"Just say it."
"Everyone, we have something to tell y'all. We're pregnant!" They both announced in excitement as everyone stared at them. Totally lost in thought for a moment.
"How long have y'all known?"
"We found out a few weeks ago."
"And you're just know tellin' us?"
"We wanted to wait until I got out of the first stage of having a possible miscarriage."
"Oh honey! One of my babies is havin' a baby. Another grandbaby to love." Her mama hugged and kissed her cheek.
"Yes I am." Dolly started crying as her sisters all stood up.
"When are you due?"
"Either around Thanksgiving or after."
"What if it's on Thanksgiving?"
"Too much excitement in one day." Dolly said
"The oven is not the only thing baking a turkey." Her sister-in-law said, not the snobby one.
