A month later
The tour finally came to an end as both Kenny and Dolly were exhausted and home sick, three months on the road and they were happy to be back home again.
As Gene, Kenny's bus driver and helping hand, pulled up into the driveway, their families all stood outside along the path of the driveway awaiting to greet the couple.
"Baby?" Kenny asked as Dolly rested on the bed.
"Yes?" Dolly questioned as she hated being woke up.
"We're home honey."
"Well, give me a few minutes and I'll be out there to join y'all." Dolly said as Kenny kissed her and walked out of the room to leave her to change into something besides her casual outfit.
"Where's Dolly?"
"Changing. She'll be out here in a few, so c'mon boys we gotta unload the bus so Gene can take it back to the shop." Kenny said as they all formed a single file line out of the tour bus and grabbed what belonged to everyone.
As Dolly was changing, she noticed that her outfits were barely fitting her and you could definitely tell she was pregnant now.
"I think mama might have to sew some elastic in her pants because it's clear these are not gonna fit any time soon." Dolly said as she grabbed a pair of maternity pants and blouse she just bought.
"We're home now baby and we'll soon found find out if you're a little boy or a little girl." Dolly said as she caressed her stomach and smiled.
...
She soon arrived in the house as Kenny was making them something to eat when she leaned against the doorway, admiring him and thinking of how lucky she was to have him.
"Need some help?" She asked.
"No baby, I want you to relax."
"That's all I've done really besides singing on a few songs when people would shout out our songs."
"They shouldn't of done that."
"Well, I'm glad they did."
"I'm not, it was okay for the first couple of songs and then, they wanted more." Kenny said as Dolly could hear the agitation in his voice.
"I know you don't want me to sing, but I know how people are when they don't get what they want and I was happy to do it." Dolly said.
"They clearly don't have any idea what it's like to be in the business while expecting a baby."
"It was only a few nights, I was perfectly fine and I believe our baby enjoyed it."
"I'm not gonna say anything anymore about what I think is best for you because clearly no one cares what I say." Kenny said as he walked off.
"Honey?" Dolly called after him as she walked upstairs and looked for him.
"What happened to "Honey, I'm gonna slow down until we have our baby." I brought you on the tour to avoid the loneliness of you being here and me being on the road." Kenny said as he stood in the doorway of their bedroom while she was sitting on their bed.
"I understand you don't want me to work, but I have seen plenty of female musicians do it and I did slow down, but I miss the feeling of singing and seeing everyone."
"Like I said, I'll let you do what you want and I won't say another word about it." With that being said, Kenny walks out and back downstairs into the kitchen as Dolly followed behind him.
