MEMORY LANE
She swallowed the painful lump in my throat, as she felt her eyes water at the sickening familiar voice.
"Hello hunny."
The person said from the other side of the phone. She felt herself shake and her heartbeat go faster. She felt her hand slip from the phone in her ear as they became sweaty and felt weakened. She could hear the loud ringing in her ear but that didn't stop her from hearing his obnoxious breathing from the phone.
"I see you are still quiet." The voice said in a teasing manner that made her shudder.
"Good. I'm watching you and I would know if you spill. I'm coming back for you Annie. I see you." The tears were dropping now, she was terrified. He was back he was going to get her.
"You know, I got a girl, she was pretty but not as pretty as you are. She wasn't even feisty."Anna did not miss the way he used was as he referred to the girl he saw. It only made her shudder more. She was scared for her life and for her sanity.
"I miss you Annie. I really do. God I miss how soft your body feels, I miss your screams."
Anna suddenly felt weak. She fell to the ground as her knees buckled.
"I always preferred you to your sister. I'm sure you know why, you are quite unique my darling. I can't wait any longer. Soon you would be in my arms where you belong."
Anna finally let the phone fall to the ground. She scrambled away from it like it was a kind of terrible thing. She watched the light go on and then off again with her blurry eyes. She clutched her heart as it beat so fast she swore she could hear it. Pain and exhaustion that was what she felt.
Soon, the different memories started to come into her mind. She could see everything replay in front of her eyes. She clutched her head and shook it from side to side. She didn't want to remember, she didn't want him back in her life. She just wanted to escape. But no matter how much she tried, she remembered.
She woke up with banging in her head and a pain in her core. She tried to remember what had happened and when she did, she scampered up from the couch that she did not remember sleeping on. She was terrified when she looked around and so no one. She felt her eyes water but pushed back the tears at the sound of the familiar voices approaching her. She looked up from her uniform that was surprisingly on her almost as if nothing had happened but the wrinkles and many subtle blood stains scattered on it said otherwise. She saw her mother and the vile man approach her, she shook in her seat at the look that he had given to her. She remembered how he had touched her not so long ago, she was busy trying so hard not to scratch her self and the places his touch still lingered until it was red but she didn't as she stared into her mother's eyes with her own eyes teary and red.
"Anna what's wrong?" Her mother had asked her and she saw her self subconsciously and unwillingly going to meet the eyes of the monster. He shook his head behind her mother, a very dangerous glint in his eyes that made Anna believe that whatever happened she dared not talk. She looked at her mother again before shaking her head and looking down only to hear him speak.
"Uhm... I think Annie is coming down with something." Anna winced at the sound of the name he had called her.
"Oh, ok. Let me get her bag, can you please bring her down for me." She was terrified. She didn't want to be in his grasp anymore but before she could even reject, he had grabbed her, and held her in a very tight grip that hurt. As her mother walked in front of them, he lowered his lips to her ear, making her cringe.
