     WEDNESDAY - WALK OF SHAME

Walking out of the house in a hurry without an umbrella when it had rained overnight  wasn't a very smart idea that she made and she realised that as she walked home.
Sporting a muddy and drenched white socks, school uniform and a very soaked and uncomfortable leather shoe, she made her way back home as the people she passed on the way gave her looks of pity.

She hadn't even gotten half way to school when a car zoomed past her and splashed from a puddle of mud, a little too much mud on her body. As she grumbled under her breath and contemplated what to do with her dirty socks and uniform,  it began to rain heavily with no single sign at all.
She huffed out as she didn't have anytime to contemplate whether she would go back home or just head to school. The moment the thunder sounded, she made a turn and began her walk of shame to her house. She was going to do the one thing that she had been avoiding from the start, facing her sister.

So there she was, standing in front of her door, dripping wet from head to toe and contemplating if she really wanted to do this. She knew the answer though; she had to do it she possibly couldn't begin another walk of shame in the horrid rain, people would probably think she had gone insane.
Taking in a rather huge breath, she quickly knocked on the door before she had the chance to chicken out.
"I'm coming." She heard her sister yell from the inside and she couldn't suddenly feel her heartbeat skyrocket in her chest. She begin giving herself speeches to calm herself down.

After all it was her sister she was going to face, and not a monster and it wasn't like they hated each other,  they just had a little quarrel because she refused to speak.

She heard the door unlock and swing open and her sister appear right in front of her.
"Oh my God!! Anna you are dripping come in quick." Her sister exclaimed and to say that the girl was shocked was an understatement. She didn't expect her sister to go all motherly on her, she expected that Kemi would open the door, see her and turn around not giving her the time of day. She expected that she would have to use her voice to convince her sister to give her a chance to explain, but surprisingly it didn't happen like that. Instead, Kemi had her strip and then change into warm clothes before handing her a cup of tea.
"What were you thinking, going out in this weather without your sweater or umbrella? Anna only shrugged as she reached for the blanket to wrap around her body.
The older girl let out a sigh and was about to get up and walk away when she heard a little squeak that made her stop.

"I'm sorry." Anna's voice came out as a squeak and she cleared her throat to make it sound much more... Presentable.

"I'm s...sorry that I didn't talk again and that I p...pushed you a...away." It was surprising that she had her stutter under control.
"I p...promise that I won't p...push you away again, b...but I can't promise to t...talk often or anymore after this. I'm s...sorry."  She didn't hear or see anything as she looked down at the now warm cup in her head very intently. Dropping the cup on the centre table to free her sweaty hands, she fiddled with her hands as she wondered what was going on in the older girl's mind. She was beginning to grow impatient at the eerie silence she didn't like at all. Kemi had to say something, anything at all even if it was her ranting and ranting about how stupid and idiotic the girl was she just had to say something.

As she was trying to decide if she had to speak up again, she was suddenly engulfed in a bone crushing hug.
"Anna!! I swear I don't care if you don't ever talk again, just don't push me away again. That hurts a lot. It hurts to know that you are hurting but you refuse to let me in."

She pulled away from Anna's hold but still held on to her shoulder as she looked straight at the girl.
"You can never hide anything from me again. Okay?" She nodded her head and reached in to hug her sister again.

Anna knew she wasn't going to talk anymore, or anytime soon; he had specifically told her not to and she was surely going to listen. She knew she was being watched but she wasn't going to let that come in the way of her and her sister's relationship. She may not be able to talk and speak her words, but she knew very well that she could still give her sister a chance so that they could be the same way that they were before.

She moved a little to give her sister some space to sit down, if she was going to let her sister in, she was going to start immediately. Grabbing her sister's phone from the desk, she began typing on it. School wasn't in her agenda anymore, as it was she was already late so what better way to spend the day than to lazy around with one of her favorite person.

"How's mum and dad?" Her sister read out of the phone  she had handed to her. Anna didn't really speak to her parents on the phone because there was nothing she could say... Literally. But with the help of her sister, she still managed to communicate with her parents. They knew how she was and she also knew how they were.

"They are fine and they have no idea when they are getting back." Kemi announced in a sentence as she studied Anna closely awaiting her reaction. The not so mute girl only shrugged though. She expected that. Her parents hardly ever had a getaway but when they eventually did, they spent as much time as they could there.

"What should we do then? You can't go to school now." Kemi said and Anna only shrugged at that.

"Tv?" Anna shook her head not really in the mood to watch anything. Besides, knowing Kemi she'd probably make them watch what she wanted only.

"Ludo." Now that was something that she could do play a game that she was good at. She nodded her head enthusiastically, making Kemi roll her eyes as she got up to get the Ludo board, dice and seeds.

Just one step at a time, and everything was going to be alright, eventually.
