Saturday.

The best day of the week.

It was the day that I wasn't forced to shower as I woke up and I was allowed to watch Netflix for as long as I wanted. It was my lazy day that I will always look forward to. I even had the entire apartment to myself since Dixie decided she wanted to go to the library to study with friends. Obviously, she did a lot of convincing because the library trick was known to me. Not that I ever used it on my parents, I was ten when they died but I do watch a lot of movies.

Baking was something I enjoyed so it wasn't surprising when I began whisking away cake batter and cookie batter while blasting the boyband PRETTYMUCH through my speakers. I felt peaceful today. Like I didn't have anything to worry about today. Strange. Shaking off the thought I focused on filling the batter into the pan and carefully putting it into the oven. I set the timer and while I waited I took my time to shower and change into a tank top and shorts.

"How was the library?" I asked and eyed her carefully. It's not that I didn't trust her, it's just that I was around teenagers once and I know the temptations that come along with it. Surprisingly, she shrugged with a sigh," boring, it smells old," she wrinkled her nose when she remembered the scent of the school's library. "Thank God my days of that are over," I joked.

"I heard that the ice cream shop is closing down," Dixie began to say something as she continued to twist her fork in her noodles. "And I was thinking what if we opened back mom's ice cream shop?" She asked with a big smile on her face. My mother owned an ice cream shop before she met my father. In fact, when he met her he couldn't stop buying ice cream just so he could see her, and honestly their stories are super cute. I only know a couple of them. But I remembered her laughing as she told me she thought he was going to get diabetes.

"The money can get us out of this apartment and into a small house or something..." she softly added. "I want us to be great people like mom and dad," she spoke louder this time and I let my fork drop harshly onto the plate and I look at her for the first time. "Mom and dad attempted to kill the king, do you want to be great people like them? You should know that we aren't really allowed to have a life at his pack," I reminded her.

"Exactly! All the older ones know us for who our parents are so let us leave! Let's transfer packs or lives with the mundanes. I want to get out of here after college, I want to go to college and see places and maybe meet my chosen mate," she smiles sweetly," I'm going to leave for college with or without you," she stated firmly. I was proud deep down that my little sister was standing her ground and standing up for herself. Something I probably wouldn't do, as expected.

"We will see about that when the time comes," I brushed her off and resumed to my noodles. Though, I could of still feel her eyes on me as she was unbelievably shocked. I couldn't blame her, I wasn't being the best big sister but I didn't want to think about losing her. She sighed and shook her head as she continued eating and I internally sighed in relief when she decided to drop the topic.

This was going to happen one way or another.
