Dixie doesn't come home as I did and I think it's good that we both decided to give each other space. I didn't know what to decide on. If I overreacted...maybe. But I really don't think I deserved for her to rub in the fact that I probably know nothing about my sister. I didn't know what to think, my head was racing to the point it hurt and I kept replaying it over and over.
Thinking that a shower would do me good, I shivered into the shower and finally calmed down once the hot water started raining down on me, soaking my skin. I shut my eyes and stayed under the water that manages to always calm me down. Westlee knew and he didn't tell me. He could have, he should have.
Why didn't he tell me?
Why did he hide it from me?
They both did.
Dixie hid it from me and I thought we were as close as ever. We told each other everything but I was wrong.
I don't know how long I stayed in the shower, just with the water running down my body until I decided to clean myself and get out of the water. I needed to shift and go on a run, it has been too long. Maybe that's how I'll clear my head.
As I changed into my short clothes to easily slip out off, I hear the front door locking and footsteps approaching my door. I froze, waiting for something. Suddenly, the doorknob turns and I hear Dixie sigh when she realized the door was locked.
"Elaria, we need to talk. I didn't mean to say all of that. I'm sorry for disappointing you but I love him, Aria," I hear her finally speak. My eyes widened. I didn't think they were that serious. "I know it's weird but he understood me with the feelings I had and everything was so overwhelming when he came into my life. At first, it was just a fling but it turned out to be something more. You don't know him as I do and we did try to stay away but we're like magnets. I swear we had arguments over how badly he treated you before Westlee until he finally realized he could lose me if he doesn't treat you well," she pauses for a minute and I processed everything she was telling me.
"I'm seventeen and he is twenty-three. Why does age matter to you? I'm honestly offended that is a problem because we are werewolves," she added with a sigh and I begin to feel really guilty. "I'm sorry we kept it from you, we kept it from everyone besides Westlee because we wanted to figure it out for ourselves. I'm not sorry it happened though. I'm asking for your forgiveness for keeping it from you not because I fell in love with him. I don't regret it at all because he makes me happy. He showed me countless times that he is serious about us," she continued.
I pushed myself off the floor and pulled the door open. Dixie stared at me with glossy eyes and a shocked expression. I didn't waste any time wrapping my arms around her. "I don't care, I'm just happy for you. My little sister is in love," the tear slipped down my cheek as we pulled away. She blushed, looking to her feet. "Does that mean you approve of us because you played the role of both of my parents and my sister at the same time? Your blessing would mean the world to me," she expressed, biting her lip out of nervousness.
"Of course I approve, I just want you to be happy, and falling in love is something extraordinary...I won't stop you from that," I answered her silly question. The lines on her forehead disappeared.
"Thank God," I hear her say. "I'm so sorry for hurting you, I shouldn't have," she continued to cry until I wiped my finger under her eyes and she composed herself. "It's alright, it's in the past," I assure her, and she managed to show me a small smile.
"Thanks," she says in a deep breath. "How about we go make some ice cream?" I suggested and her eyes lit up. At the age of five, my father taught me to make homemade ice cream. "Yes!" She squeals and we both bolted into the kitchen and began pulling out all of the ingredients.
